Thermostat works fine, WiFi setup is difficult

When my 91-year-old father in-law's HVAC system was replaced we requested a thermostat that we could control remotely via WiFi. The installers didn't connect it to WiFi, so I took it on. I have fairly broad experience connecting devices that offer remote control via a home's wifi network but the T6 and its Resideo app were difficult, especially compared to an ecobee. However, once setup it works great - all we want to do is be able to adjust the temperature and have it notify us when to change the filter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the app. I can control temp when i am out so I am not heating an empty house. The schedule is a great feature. Like that i can see the grapgh of daily rin time. Very satisfied.

This thermostat is easy to use, easy to install, and there was great customer support to assist with questions during installation. I am sure I’m going to save money because it’s so much more efficient than the old thermostat.

I like the convenience of being able to control my thermostat on my honk and Apple Watch. Sometimes there’s a delay when I’m changing settings and want to turn the heat off but overall it’s super cool!

This is a great thermostat, once it's set up. Difficulties for me include:
1. Connecting the app was difficult as the name of the app (Resideo) was different than what was directed in the manual.
2. I wish devices would simply put the model number and (some kind of important code necessary for programming) somewhere visible so troubleshooting can be faster and smoother! That was frustrating.
3. The touch screen menus seem unnecessarily complicated to navigate.
Again, once you get everything working, the thermostat works well.
