Nice thermostat with good features and the app, but has trouble staying online, when you’re away from home. That is the main purpose to having an app and wi-fi connectivity, but doesn’t fulfill that strongly. We have 3 installed in our home, and one of them keeps going offline, right after I bring online. I am hoping someone from Honeywell reaches out to me, after they read these comments.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to install, more effective control, and has cut my electric bill by a third compared to my other smart thermostat. Others cycled far too often. This one also has control of filter reminder cycle.

I am still learning about how this all works and probably will take some more time to figure it all out.

This unit doesn't have all of the features of the higher end Ecobees and Nests, but it has what you typically need (vacation mode, check status and temp while out of town, change schedule settings remotely, etc). The price is much lower than those units, which HVAC people seem not to like working with. They love working with Honeywell.
Some older YouTube reviews criticized the software installation process, but we had zero issues. It works well and I am happy with it.
