the heat pump will occasionally come on for about 15 seconds then shut off.

Hi Roger10, thank you for bringing this to our attention. As long as the heat/cool only run when the thermostat is displaying 'Heat On' or 'Cool On' steady on the screen and the inside temperature doesn't go above or below the set temperature, we can say that the thermostat is working properly. Our support team is available 7 days a week, just visit our Support Center link at the top of the page for ways to get in touch and someone would be happy to help.
I'm a former Nest and Ecobee Thermostat user who moved into a home with 2 preexisting Honeywell T6 Pro thermostats. This Thermostat is about as basic as it gets compared to other wifi-enabled offerings and would not be something I would recommend. The scheduling function is very limited, HomeKit integration incredibly basic (automatically places a permanent temperature hold that must be manually removed to resume the schedule), and there is no smart away function aside from geofencing which does NOT make sense for a home with kids. I definitely would not recommend this product unless you are wanting a very basic thermostat with the simplest of simple wifi control.

Hi Jason, thank you for your review of the T6 thermostat. We highly appreciate your feedback. If you have further comments or need assistance with your devices, please visit our Support Center link at the top of the page for ways to get in touch and someone would be happy to help.
The T6 is very complex and requires some serious thought for programming. I found it confusing, even as an older tech guy. I finally just set it at 74 Cool in all the modes of home away sleep wake. I woke one morning and heard something running. I must have touched something cause the fan was in on and not auto. Geez. Hoping I can figure out the modes on the app and they are easier to program than the touch pad.
We installed T6 pro thermostat about one year ago. The gas and electrical bill raised, not because of the higher cost of energy, but the usage of gas and electricity increased. The termistat has a veered behavior to turn on while the temperature is still as set up. Sometimes it lowers it a few degrees lower then programmed. Lately it started behaving so called "short cycling" it starts and then stops after only a few seconds. I live in Arizona, it is very hot here. My temperature is set to 81, but in the house it is 87 now with outside temperature of 96 degrees. I belive my thermostat is under warranty, but at this point, I don't trust honeywell products. I would like the Cust. Service rep to contact me to see what they can offer me in replacement if thus model.

Hi Angelica, we are sorry to hear about this. Our thermostats have a -+1 degree differential, will run until reaching the setpoint and then will cycle the system to maintain that set temperature. Our team is ready to help, visit the Support Center link at the top of the page for ways to get in touch.
In my experience, this company is not of any help. When I called, they requested that I know how to disable this product when they do not provide any tools for doing so.
