Very useful and helpful in controlling your home climate system without getting up and controlling the thermostat remotely from your phone. I travel overseas and it is noce to know exactly what is happening with the temperatures inside my house. Also noce to find out total hvac usage from the telephone app.

I connect it to WiFi so I can control it via my phone or Google home and it sets its clock behind by 48 hours. Scheduling is pretty impossible

Happy to be back to a programmable thermostat. Appreciate can set by time of day or Day/Sleep settings. Also like the ‘fence’ that recognizes when I travel beyond or return within 1 mile and stops/starts heat/cold accordingly.
Negatives - not intuitive on each feature or always consistent with changing from heat & cold “mode” to reach target temperature. Once programmed the thermostat switches as needed but if you don’t have programmed correctly, you may not get temperature of air you want.
Mostly stays connected to wifi and with a disabled primary family member using the app from bed where they mostly are is v convenient.

This thermostat has almost no features besides connecting to the internet. Various modes (home/away/etc.) are only available through a schedule. If you don't have a consistent schedule or want to be able to override the settings, you're just changing the temperature. There are no other controls.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
