Can't Be Serious

It is 2025 and this product requires a 2.4ghz only modem to allow it to connect to the internet. They can't possibly be serious. This product should be taken off the market - I can't believe that professionals are even installing it.

Hi, we are sorry that you feel this way and apologize for the inconvenience. This model requires a 2.4 GHz only network. We can recommend you the T10 or T9 (retail version) that are compatible with 2.4 and 5 GHz networks.

WIFI connection problem

We have had the T6 wifi model for a number of years and it has worked fine. We recently changed network providers and cannot get it to connect to the new wifi.We had talked to Resideo support trying numerous different things like pulling the thermostat off the wall for a hour to reset, go through the menu to set up and it finds various neighbours wifi but not ours. Talked to internet provider and made sure the network was split for 5g and 2.4g and labelled as so. Other equipment we have connected fine to the new internet. Support could not really give us any other ideas and neither could the internet supplier as other equipment was fine. Not sure if we need to buy a new up to date thermostat like a T9 or T10 that connects to 5g and 2.4g. Would have gave this thermostat 5 stars until this happened.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi Knocker63, we are sorry to hear about this and apologize for the inconvenience. We can recommend you to see if you can connect the thermostat to a mobile hotspot (2.4). If it connects to the hotspot that means that there is a setting on your Wi-Fi network that is not letting the connection to happen. We will be happy to share a list of recommended router settings. If the thermostat does not connect to the 2.4 mobile hotspot then it might be the thermostat. Our Support Center link at the top of the page has all the ways you can get in contact with us to discuss where the issue may be.

Unreliable Thermostat

We built a new home 1 1/2 years ago and the builder installed two T6 Pro Smart Thermostats in house. We are very happy with how the thermostats function when they are working and I love the remote functionality. One of the thermostats stopped functioning last March. The thermostat was replaced by the builder under warranty and has been working fine since. The second thermostat stopped functioning last week. Again, it was replaced under builder warranty. I am concerned about the reliability of this thermostat as 2 out of 2 thermostats have had to be replaced in less than 2 years. I am concerned that I will be stuck with a bill when they come off warranty.

T6 Pro, better T-Stats available

I've had this device for almost a year and a half. It came bundled with my new AC unit that I had installed and came recommended by the installer. It worked fine in the beginning, but then it started to lose connectivity. I tried uninstalling the app and disconnecting the T-Stat to reconnect it and it took several attempts to reconnect before it finally took. This device is supposed to work with Ring, which it did at first but after all the issues it won't connect anymore.
Upgraded Wifi router recently and had same issue as before. Had to uninstall app, several attempts to connect before success, and even with new Resideo app (looks same as Honeywell Home) still doesn't connect with Ring.
Spend the money and get a better programmable T-Stat with more features and better interface.

Worst T-Stat Ever Made??

HVAC tech that I use often installed the T6 Lyric at my house - had problems from the first day it was installed. Switched to the Honeywell T6 Lyric from the Ecobee (equally as terrible btw) ---- The T6 t-stat had issues properly cooling my house - really wonderful during a heatwave. I would set the t-stat to 67 and my house would read 76 causing my condenser unit to run constantly. Finally put my fist through the face of the thermostat and had another brand of t-stat installed and guess what??!?!? It works properly - ditch this if you have it and run to another brand ASAP. Its technically not ever Honeywell anymore---- their HVAC product line was bought out by Residio - so its name only.

Worse than nothing

This is the most user-unfriendly piece of tech in the consumer market. If you are shopping for your home, avoid this abomination at all cost. If you buy this for an apartment complex, people will curse the day you were born for years to come. The "programming" is the opposite of intuitive, and there is absolutely no way to turn off the gazillion of over-complicated features most people neither want or need. The on-screen prompts are meaningless, the buttons are confusing, and the experience of simply trying to turn on the A/C is as pleasant as sticking needles under your fingernails. Whoever designed it: next time, please, either go with a full-on question-answer AI-based interface or stick to a simple Heat-AC-OFF switch. Even manually plugging and unplugging the AC unit would have been less of a nightmare than this piece of crap.

We were thrilled to get a wifi thermostat until... 1. Continue to get notices that it's offline 2. The display does not show and we don't know how to fix it. Unfortunately it's a holiday weekend. Customer support isn't available for a few days and they are on central time. 3. There is no troubleshooting via the app 4. There is no real monitoring via the app
We received this from the city so would have expected something better. Just thankful the weather is bearable and we aren't in desperate need of AC or Heat. If this is resolved on a long term basis I'd be happy to change the review as overall the concept seems good, just short on the execution?
Response from resideo.comBy Support, July 31, 2023
Hi honeycurls, thank you for bringing this to our attention. A blank display could mean that the thermostat is not receiving enough power from your HVAC system. Without a display, the thermostat will not connect to Wi-Fi and you will not be able to control it using the app. We recommend you to have the installer of your T6 thermostat checking the voltage to verify if this is a system or thermostat issue. This model has 5 years of warranty through the HVAC contractor who installed the thermostat. Once the power issue has been resolved, we recommend making sure that you have a 2.4 GHz only Wi-Fi network to ensure good connectivity.

Completely Unsmart Device

As accurately described by so many others, this is the absolute WORST smart device I’ve ever seen. A pure disgrace and disappointment in this age of technology. It hardly stays connected to the WiFi, to the app, the schedule function is absolutely horrendous, and it hardly follows the program. Do yourself a favor and buy any another thermostat.
