T6 Recommended by Pros - So I was prepared

I bought this Thermostat, and did find the instructions daunting, and eventually called the Resideo support phone number. It was then I got all my questions answered and learned about how to use and “set ranges for” the templates that make this thermostat quite marvelous. The point of the templates are to lock out users from making undesirable temperature settings. It’s got to be bullet proof so a tenant doesn’t dial down the AC to 62 degrees, and the T6 can set a normal minimum among other things. The internet connection is strong, and my phone receives updates of AC usage as well as loss of internet signal which translates to a power loss. Other cool features are IPhone texts whenever the house temperature is below (AC) or above (heat) a set threshold - another template. Weekly runtimes are generated for AC and/or heat and available on the Resideo App so I can easily compute estimate kW/hour electricity usage - if you know the wattage of your AC.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Honeywell T6 Pro / Resideo app review
on July 26, 2024

As a manually programmable thermostat it functions correctly. The Wi-Fi setup however, needs work. When the attempt was made to enable the WI-FI and connect to a phone the process was difficult and did not work. Calling for support did not resolve the problem. Eventually I discovered that the T6 Pro was turning off its WI-FI at the end of the setup and required manually turning it back on to cure the problem. The Resideo app "RUNTIME" displayed is 3 to 4 days behind the current time and the "Sleep Brightness Mode" in settings cannot be set to zero (except manually at the thermostat). Two helpful additions to the app would be programmable FAN on/off times and displaying the apps version number.

It works, but it's missing every feature
on April 11, 2025

It works, and there is an app, however it doesn't work with Google and thus I can't ask my Android phone to adjust the temperature. The setup was highly obnoxious, especially considering I had to put in 2 (upstairs & downstairs). The settings are only heat, cool, or off - there's no setting for these spring and fall days in the South where it's 45 in the morning and 85 in the afternoon.

Hi MrNate, we're sorry to hear you experienced this, the auto changeover feature can be enabled from the thermostats setup menu, please see below.

1. On the thermostat tap the screen so "Menu" shows at the bottom of the screen.
2. Press and hold the "Menu" button until "Device Setup" appears, and press "Select."
3. Use the arrow button to go to function 300 at the top of the screen and press "Edit."
4. Use the arrow buttons to set the Auto-Changeover feature to "On" or "Off."

If the Auto Changeover feature is turned on on the thermostat, it can now be turned on in the Resideo App or by changing the Mode on the thermostat.

Smart TH6220WF2006?
on June 14, 2025

I have had this thermostat (TH6220WF2006) for about a year and it was fine. Now I get 10-15 alerts a day of how it stopped communicating. What is up with this thing because I'm about to put a round manual dial back up.

I've only had this thermostat for about 3 weeks, but I'm finally get impossible to set up in the app. Every link and suggestion is cyclic. It has me going in circles. Come on guys. Your engineers are not developers. Get somebody who knows how to write code.

Would not buy again

I would not buy this system again. The standard thermostat, non-smart, used for decades, never malfunctioned. The instruction manuals and website do not have information for basic battery replacement. The old version did not have batteries, and worked fine for decades.

Hi, we are sorry to hear about this and apologize for the inconvenience. This thermostat does not use batteries. If the thermostat has a blank display, please reach out to your HVAC contractor to take a look at this and check voltage. This model has 5 years of warranty through the installer.
