For most people this thermostat would be a 4 or 5. I'm an engineer and need tech details and data. This thermostat falls short in that the span (the temp above & below the set point where it turns on/off the HVAC) is unknown and not settable. Additionally, the run time data in the app doesn't update in real time. In fact I have no idea when it updates and nothing seems to show up for low run-times. On a positive note, I do like the WiFi connectivity and the ability to control from anywhere.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dated! The builder put this in as a standard thermostat. We gave it a try to keep an open mind. From the interface to controls it just doesn’t cut it in this modern age of technology. No humidity sensor. Aesthetically bland. After a month in these dinosaurs in our new home, we bought Nest thermostats which we had in our other homes. Don’t even waste your time with this thermostat!

Easy to use touch screen to change temperature settings. One day I accidentally touched the cool setting vs heat a few days into having the new thermostat, which was surprising when I begin hearing powerful and loud clanking noises.I rushed to turn off the thermostat thinking something was wrong. I noticed the menu setting was on cool where I had obviously just chose by touching the wrong place on the touch screen. Easy enough to fix, and now very careful with the touch screen. My only caution would be the elderly knowing what to do in a similar event..
