I purchased this unit as an upgrade to a new furnace system in a residence I am preparing to move to permanently. The location on the Iron Range of MN means that the area is subject to some colder weather during the winter. I am at that residence 1-3 weeks a month working on interior since the exterior is a bit cold. I like to be able to monitor the home temperature while away and adjust for lower temps during this period. With the warning system on the app, I can be notified of a drop on the internal temps and can have assistance get to the residence to ensure in case of furnace failure the pipes, water conditioner and pump will not freeze. The app is very easy to use and I would recommend both this thermostat and the app to anyone looking to upgrade.

Probably several more months before I'll know. I already own 3 units but one has quit fleshy. Im OLD, I have never before had a thermostat quit working after only about 5 years. Must mention, it works manually just not w wifi.
