This only connects to 2.4 GHZ wi-fi. All the new routers (google mesh, etc) do not let you choose 2.4 or 5.0 and as such the thermostat cannot connect to wi-fi. There are many on-line posts as to how frustrating this is - it's become old technology!

I found it a little hard at first to download app but after install everything works fine. I love the boundary setting feature for both winter and summer.
