i juste don't understand how it will know when the temperature goes below the -12 celcius to change from the thermopump to electric furnace.

We had to replace a 30 year old Honeywell thermostat in our home. After much research and with the recommendation of our installer, we went with the T6 Smart Thermostat. Besides having the newest technology, we now have the capability of controlling our thermostat with our other devices. It works flawlessly.
