Hi William, thanks for the rating. You can enable the Auto changeover feature from the advanced setup menu, please see the following direction.
1. At the thermostat press and hold menu until the screen changes.
2. Press select on Device setup.
3. Press the right arrow until 300 appears on the top of the screen.
4. Tap Edit.
5. Press the right arrow to change the setting to ON.
6. Press Done to save.
Once complete you'll have the AUTO option under the mode menu.

I made the mistake of moving the brightness from zero - once you do that the lowest you can go is one and that can keep you up at night if you're used to a completely dark bedroom. Also, I wasn't able to program a fan schedule. I like the fan on each night as I sleep. Vacation mode has to be set manually every time. There's no automatic eco mode when you and your cell phone leave. This thermostat could be smarter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It has a complicated menu and it is not user friendly.
There isn't a dedicated heat or cool setting. To increase the heat or lower the A/C one has to go into settings and make choices. There should be one button for heat and one for cool. This thermostat doesn't have that.
