Great control, can monitor and set from phone. Only wish i would have added remote outdoor sensor, also return and supply, and air flow sensors on both units. More cost but handy. A humidity sensor would have been nice too.

Easy to use thermostat for an inverter heat pump

I have a Lyric T6 Pro Wi-Fi 2003 thermostat installed a month ago by a contractor along with a Bosch inverter heat pump BOVB-36HDN1-M18. Overall, I am happy with the result. The thermostat allows to control the key settings using a Resideo app available for smartphones and tablets. The app is easy to use. I rated the thermostat at 4 because I find some minor inconveniences and ways to improve the product. First, when setting up heat pump mode (heat, emergency heat, cool, off) these options are cycled - there is no direct access to either of them (but direct access to these modes is available in the app). As a result, when switching the unit from off to cool, for example, it is easy to get to a wrong mode (e.g., emergency heat instead of cool) since the switch to a selected mode is very fast. I would suggest adding a minute or so delay before the actual switch happens or using a ‘confirm’ option before your command is sent to a pump. Same applies to switching fan modes and again, in an app there is a way to directly access necessary mode. Second, the app itself is often too slow to provide the correct status of your heat pump (heat, cool, off, etc.), which is inconvenient. Finally, to clean the touchscreen of the thermostat you need to use a long enough sequence of commands to disable the touchscreen for 30 seconds while you are cleaning it. All these are minor things and, again, I am happy with the product.

I was very disappointed when I learned that I could not get a humidity reading on this device. Also, I do not get feedback on my monthly usage of AC and heat. Lastly, no current weather report which offers daily forecast and current temperature. This info on previous unit helped anticipate how I should set the device
