the air does not turn off instantly when i ask the thermostat to do so. and there is no battery back up in case of power failure . those are major disappointments to me.

With owning a vacation home this thermostat works perfectly. We can turn the heat up online prior to our arrival and the house is warm and comfortable by the time we get there.
Also we can monitor the house temperature from afar—whether vacant or someone staying there

Not very happy with the new thermostat, it has no auto function. I have to physically change it between heat and cool. I live in Texas where the weather changes every five minutes. The ability to pick my comfort range and forget about it would be nice, the system adjusts itself between heat and cool to stay within the desired range. My last smart thermostat had that function.
