All of my thermostats have been digital with an ‘auto’ mode that switched from a/c to heat based on the program. I’ve had this ability for 23+ years with older thermostats. However, I don’t see this capability with this new “smart” thermostat and this is quite disappointing. The new features are cool, but losing the ability to automatically switch from a/c to heat without intervention is not cool.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, the T6 pro does have the auto changeover feature, please see direction below.
1. Press and hold the "Menu" button until "Device Setup" appears, and press "Select."
2. Use the arrow button to go to function 300 at the top of the screen and press "Edit."
3. Use the arrow buttons to set the Auto-Changeover feature to "On" or "Off."

This thermostat should also be able to tell you what the humidity is in the house. Our old one did and was a lot cheaper

Convenience is good. It is too easy to accidentally change the mode setting when touching the screen to wake up status display. We tend to reach for the bottom area. Tech help was needed for finding configuration settings and meanings within menus. We are still learning the features. Small product book in the house did not help.
