Good product, have used better. My prior smart thermostat lit up as I walked in front of it ready to receive an adjustment. This new unit you have to tap to get it ready for adjustment then tap again on the type of adjustment you want to make or tap just to see the current status even if adjustment is not needed. Otherwise the unit is easy to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have this thermostat installed in two houses. I wanted to be able to control them both with my iphone. I can't connect one of them to my phone at all, the other one connected easily at first but then the app went completely black and I get constant notices on my phone that I have crossed my geofence but there is something wrong and the app can't change my settings. Of course I never set up a geofence and I find it particularly disconcerting that my thermostat knows when my phone is near it, so my whereabouts are being tracked but in return there is absolutely no functionality with the app! Don't buy this thermostat if you think you will be able to control it with your iphone. The app doesn't work at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

having intermittent problem with bad inside temperature readings. Displayed inside temperature jumps up 2 degrees and stays there for around 3 minutes (sometimes over 6 minutes) then jumps back 2 degrees to correct inside temperature.
Suspect problem between furnace power and thermostat.

!This was recommended by furnace service technician to replace manual Honeywell t-stat. Plug and play, no issues connecting to my wireless network. Also no issues staying connected; read other reviews where this was a concern. I can control heat system from the touch screen when in the house or remotely. Have not tested cooling system yet: waiting for warm weather.
