Just got a new heat pump and my hvac company installed this thermostat. So far I like it and we bought an additional to upgrade our thermostat for the upstairs heat pump we replaced in 2018. It had the same thermostat from Honeywell, it just didn’t have wifi or option to be controlled by my phone.
Best new thermostat I have ever had. Don’t even need to touch it cuz it’s controlled on my cellphone!! Easy peasie lemon squeezie! And I’m not tech savvy but I can operate this one!! WTG!!
Nice, clear display. No issues with continued operation after a brief power outage, which was a big positive! The programming was a bit tricky at first. Am still not clear on the geo fencing, or if it can be used in conjunction with a day/time program already in operation.
The unit allows me to control the heat remotely, I think. I use the device with Apple devices, all current models and operating systems. The app does not display either the current day run time and is actually two days behind. Although I can read the current temp, really don't know if the unit is running correctly. The unit is advertised to display to a temp of 37? but you cannot set the control to lower than 50 which I have done a lot in the past. This unit is very basic in function as it does not display events, humidity - probably fine for a home one lives in, not great for a seasonal or remote application. I have a Trane and Carrier control at another location and they are far superior, although a bit more expensive. I am hopeful the software can be fixed shortly to allow compatibility with the Apple infrastructure or will need to replace. (The unit was installed as a part of a new heating system and I did not see the limited values displayed so some of the functionality complaints are on me. but run time is critical and that is advertised)
