Nice thermostat and app. Unfortunately it did not communicate well with our system, a Bosch 2 stage heat pump and Bosch Propane Furnace. It was slow to communicate to the equipment, with long delays in cycles starting. Seemed to run the system all the time, sometimes not maintain the set temperature. Finally it would turned everything off when the temp reached 65, even though it was set for 72. Could not even get emergency heat to work above 65, it even shut that down. Company that installed my new system in Dec. 2022 said they had been having a lot of problems with the Honeywell Thermostats and have now moved to Ecobee for all of their installations. They took out our Honeywell and replaced it with an Ecobee, and now everything functions as it should.
This was recommended to me by my HVAC company. It wasn't easy to program from the main unit but the app is much easier to understand and utilize. So far, it does what it's supposed to and I can make temporary changes easily as needed. Looks to be a good purchase!
If you are not really a person involved in technology like myself, the set up was rather complicated. The tech notion that installed it, a bright young man hit a snag because of the WiFi set up in our complex, he couldn’t seem to get beyond it so I had to involve someone to communicate w you and the WiFi provider to get it all figured out leaving more confused/intimidated by such a sophisticated device. However I realize it’s the way of the future and feel it’s quality is good, but the installation person maybe could have been better trained at the point of installation…
