Decent thermostat, but lacks some features and app has glitches
I recently purchased three TH6320WF2003 thermostats for my new whole-house heat pump system. Set-up was straightforward, and both the thermostats and the Residio app have a good look-and-feel. The thermostats are able to control my geothermal system effectively, including fine-tuning the settings for when the auxilary/emergency gas heating kicks-in (i.e. in a power failure or other heat pump failure).
My two main concerns so-far are: 1)the app is not 100% reliable - in the several weeks I've been using it, there have been at least two periods of an hour or more where the app was down (it displayed a message saying there was a problem. 2)When set to geofencing, there's no way to "return to normal program" after manually changing the temperature in a room.
Simply awful. There's no advantage to having this monstrosity over a traditional thermostat except for the time you will waste programming it. Moreover, for such an overpriced thermostat there's no separate weekend program, so we spend our Saturday and Sunday bumping the temperature up and down. Finally, there's no easy way to transfer ownership should you decide to sell or rent the place.
Great to control the temp from the App in your phone and program temp when you are away from home. However not possible to fully program or access other thermostat features from your phone.
I'm a real estate developer and test a LOT of smart thermostats. Honeywell has fallen seriously behind. I only bought this one because I had to replace two other honeywell thermostats that did not work property. I did the same thing at another home and had to return two of them before getting the NEST thermostat; which I HIGHLY recommend over this one. Worse, honeywell gave up their app and has a 3rd party group managing it. I won't use Honeywell again.
It’s not the easiest to use and can be annoying but when I was able to connect it to my phone, it’s a game-changer! I love it now. It’s very useful and I like that I can access it even when I’m still at work.
