Thermostat does not seem to be sensitive to actual ambient temperature as other WiFi stats. Ac does not shut off when stat is at 80 degrees but room temp is well under 80 degrees and will allow unit to run all day long, driving up the electric bill. User interface on app is very lackluster and does not support widgets to my knowledge. Also not sure if Honeywell makes wireless room sensors that connect to this thermostat but they probably would be a waste of money as the thermostat itself can’t read the temperature properly why would an accessory for it do any better? I Will be changing out this stat soon, and can’t wait to do so, stay away from this brand it will cost you more in your electric bill than it’s worth!!
I recently installed a heat pump and needed to control all my HVAC equipment (HP/AC/Furnace and HRV). This thermostat allows for all that including connection of an outdoor temp sensor. What it's lacking is the ability to monitor my HVAC equipment from the app. I can't see run hours, indoor humidity, or other stats to let me know how my equipment is running. I know this data is being captured so why not make it available to the customer. Other products like Nest have this but Nest doesn't support connection of an outdoor sensor. If the front end was enhanced I think this would be one of the best thermostats on the market
So far the thermostat seems fine as it is doing what it’s supposed to. The setup took a great deal of time, however, even for the technicians. The device interface is not too bad, but could be simpler. The division of functions / assignment of function controls between the device and the app is sometimes peculiar. The manual should be greatly improved: a flow chart would be a useful addition, particularly for exhibiting the dependencies of the different settings and to clarify the specifics of dual fuel vs single fuel installations. The hierarchy of information could be modified to express some of the key configuration requirements
