The thermostat works well, and the wifi connectivity is an added convenience. However, I was hoping that a sophisticated electronic controller would have more than the usual options. This thermostat, as all of them, assumes everyone goes to work from 9 to 5 every day. Many of us now work from home and have more complex daily patterns. To be really useful the thermostat should have programming options for more than 4 settings per 24 hour period.
easy to install, program and connect to your cell phone. Now if they offered this in a 2 wire unit with battery power, I could use it on other existing zones.
We purchased this for our second home so that we could be sure that the temperature would always be properly monitored. It works great. We don't worry about our pipes freezing in the winter or arriving at a sweltering house in the summer.
Not thrilled with the T6 Pro compared to the Nest. The T6 controls on my phone do not seem to read the same as what the thermostat shows. It often does not have the updated current temperature. When I switch from heating to cooling it will remain on cooling so when I turn the temperature down the AC kicks on instead of the heat turning off. So it keeps completely messing up our temperature. I have to make sure that it's actually switched over. In addition, you can't turn the fan on and leave it running or set it to run for 20 minutes or an hour or 2 hours, etc.
I bought the T6 Pro to do IFTTT with my MyQ garage door opener, I set the unit up to use with my garage heater which works fine. I wanted to set up a IFTTT applet to have the thermostat go off when my garage door is open, but all I could do is have it go down to the lowest setting of 4.5 C which would be alright but when you have -20 C weather and shoveling the driveway you don’t want to heat the neighborhood. I tried to contact Honeywell customer service, which ended up in U.K. They directed me to Honeywell in North America phone number, in which directed me to Resideo. That ended up in a dead end, and even trying on the website that just got worse. If you are looking for a unit to use for IFTTT, look else where. For a normal basic smart thermostat it works fine.
