Awful new clingy fragrance

The new scent is so, so bad, and that fragrance clings to everything washed. Loved original scent. Will not buy Dawn now. Wish I could give zero stars. It’s so disappointing when a great product changes to something intolerable.

Alas for a classic.

The smell of Dawn dish soap has been one of the most familiar smells of life since I could first remember. Washing a baby raccoon I found abandoned in a dumpster. Cleaning up the dishes the kitchen with grandmom. Lathering up for that slip-n-slide down the huge hill. Dawn must know it's a classic, so why change something so dear, so "everyday", when the rest of the world is changing so quickly?
Practically speaking, unlike the original, the new scent sticks around and requires more hot rinsing to get rid of it.

New Scent is awful

The new scent is overpowering. It makes me feel sick, and lingers on my hands and dishes.
Please bring back the old scent!

Our products undergo thorough testing to ensure they're always safe for use as directed, and we do extensive research when we design product features, like scents, to make sure we're meeting the needs/preferences of our consumers. We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the scent of your Dawn Ultra, and that the smell made you feel sick, as this isn't the experience we want or expect you to have, and we're grateful you brought it to our attention. If you're concerned with how the product is affecting you, please discontinue use.

To remove the scent from your dishes, soak the items in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it, or if they're dishwasher safe, pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and directly into the dispenser, then run them through the machine. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out. Additionally, you can rewash your hands with mild hand soap to remove the scent.

Your satisfaction is important to us, and we hope you'll give Dawn another try. We have a variety of scents if the Original no longer meets your needs, including an unscented version called Dawn Free and Clear, Unscented. Used to love dawn until they changed the scent

I used to love dawn and used it for many different cleaning purposes. Since the scent change, I can no longer use it since it smells like headache. It's too bad and I hope they actually take the feedback from so many disappointed customers and find a way to recreate the original scent, or something similar. It's not that the original scent was so fantastic, it's just that it smelled basic like soap instead of want to be air freshener that has no place on dishes.

New scent smells discusting!

New scent is extremely unpleasant. Causes nausea and headache for people who are sensitive to smells. Bad idea. Will be changing brands and hope others will follow.

Why Not Offer Original Scent

My wife bought this thinking it was Dawn Original and it's horrible! The CLEAN NEW SCENT gives me an instant headache, as usual another product we've used for decades has been ruined! We will not be buying Dawn again!
