Horrible New Scent

Purchased my Dawn as I have been doing for over 25 years. When filling my sink caddy and doing dishes, there was an overpowering scent that I was not familiar with. I was shocked when I realized it was the Dawn. Two things: 1. The scent is awful and sickening; 2. There is NO indication on the bottle that this is a “new scent”. I find it nauseating and will be bringing it back in hopes that the store will issue a refund. I will be searching for a we dish soap until the old Dawn returns!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stinky!!!

Ugh. This stuff freaking stinks. I haven’t had to buy a bottle in a while and the most recent one freaking stinks. The smell/flavor lingers on dishes and is very off putting.

Extensive research and consumer testing goes into our products to create appealing features, and our products undergo stringent quality controls to ensure performance and safety. When the soap scent lingers on your dishes, there could be a few potential causes for this happening. Over time, dish soap buildup can accumulate on dishes. Also, if you have hard water, it can interfere with the effectiveness of the soap and leave behind residue (using a water filter may help). For best results, add about 2 tablespoons of dish soap to the sink, then add water that’s 105-115°F. We don't recommend leaving to soak long term, but to wash promptly, and rinse the dishes thoroughly with clean water. We take your satisfaction very seriously, and our Dawn Team would like to learn more about your experience to further assist you. Another thumbs down for the new scent

I can't think of the last time I used a dish soap other than Dawn. Unfortunately, I'll now be looking for a new product. Like most of the posts here, I cannot stand the new scent. Not only do I not like the fragrance, it actually gives me a headache. I have no idea what led the brand team to make the change.
Also - very strange that most of the reviews are negative - except from the ones from influenster.com, which are obviously being used to skew the reviews. Sad.

‘New clean scent’ is awful!

I’ve been using Dawn ultra for the past 25 years. I cant find Dawn ultra at my local stores, only the Dawn with the ‘new clean scent’. What a misnomer, nothing could be further from the truth, the new clean scent smells horrid! If I could give zero stars I would.
What marketing idiot sold this to upper management. Sadly I can’t use Dawn dish-soap any longer, have moved on to a different brand.

The new scent for Dawn ultra smells awful! I have used Dawn for over 30 years, but not anymore. Terrible marketing move that will drive long loyal customers to other competitors. It’s so bad I had to throw it out and move on to a different brand.

Perfume?

Bought the new scent and ended up pouring it down the disposal! Too much perfume scent! Why fix it if it’s not broken! Please don’t discontinue the original! I even think it gave my Tupperware container a taste of perfume on my leftovers! 🤢😷 very overpowering! Hate it! Please let me know if you plan on discontinuing the original, I would go out and buy a lifetime supply of it to avoid this perfume ridden new kind!

LOVE the new bottle!

I absolutely love the new EZ squeeze bottle. I love that the opening is on the bottom, so you can get every bit out of it (no more adding water to the small amount at the bottom just to get it all out.) I love that it doesn't make a mess and drip onto your surface.
Dawn is just a great product. We even use it at my medical office to clean our CPAP supplies, and we always suggest to our patients that they use it too.
