For a lighter scent, we suggest giving our Dawn Free & Clear a try, and we also offer our Dawn Free & Clear Fragrance-Free. While scent preferences will vary from person to person, we would never expect a scent to cause any negative reactions, and our products go through extensive testing to ensure safety with proper use. While you may have done so already, please discontinue using the product to avoid any further sensitivity. In regard to the lingering scent, we wouldn't expect this to be your experience either, however, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. To remove the scent/taste, please soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added.
