Disgusting new smell!

Unnecessary scent change

I very much dislike this new Clean Scent that you have on the original Dawn. It leaves a nasty perfume scent on my hands that won't go away. I have used the Original Dawn for at least 30 years and never strayed because it did NOT leave a scent on my hands afterward. I have reactions to scent/fragrances that linger on, and have disliked that so many products are adding so much fragrance. The very light scent of the Original Dawn was perfect. WHY???

Quality and safety have always been at the forefront of everything we do, and while scent preferences will always vary from person to person, we would not expect you to have a negative reaction when using it as directed. This is because all of our products go through extensive testing to ensure safety with proper use. Your wellbeing means a lot to us, so please discontinue using the Dishwashing Soap if you haven't done so already. To remove the scent from your hands, you can rewash them with a mild hand soap. It may take a few tries, but the smell will resolve. We truly value you as a consumer and hope you'll give Dawn another try. We have a variety of scents if the Original no longer meets your needs, including an unscented version called Dawn Free and Clear, Unscented. My Dawn, my Dawn, why have you forsaken me?

I have been a loyal Dawn user for over 25 years. Nothing else would do, very brand loyal. But the new fresh scent is horrible. It's like cheap perfume, I can't stand it. Headache inducing. I will throw it out and try a different brand altogether. It's even sadder that I had half a bottle of the old scent in a dispenser by my sink, and unknowingly topped it off with the new scent. Oh, the tragedy. So sad. A favorite product bites the dust.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pee Yewwwwwwwww!!! New Clean Scent Stinks!!!!!!

My fault I did not see there is a "New Clean Scent" but this new scent is horrible. It made me sick to my stomach and I had to walk away from my dishes. I love Dawn dish soap and loved the EZ-Squeeze bottle but now I have to spend more money and try and find the original scent even if it is in the original tip over bottle.

"New Clean Scent" is awful! Bring Back the orginal

I have been an avid Dawn dishsoap user my whole life, have never bought another because Dawn was my go to. Now this "New Clean scent" is absolutely terrible I cannot use it, the scent stays on the dishes even after rinsing and the smell lingers on your hands for hours. Please bring back the original! I am going to have to use a different not so perfumed dish soap until I can find Dawn original.

Please Bring Back Original Scent

The New Scent caught me by surprise. Thought I had bought Original. I knew after the first drops from bottle something was wrong. For a while I thought the overwhelming ick flowery fragrance was coming from somewhere else. After I investigated numerous other options, I found it was the Dawn. I have allergies to perfumes and this new scent triggers problems for me. I have used Original Scent Dawn for decades and now am forced to find some other dishwashing liqiud that works as well as Dawn but does not smell like cheap perfume.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

New scent is horrible!

We have been using Dawn dish soap exclusively for decades. It was perfect. I had heard from a friend that the scent had been changed and that she could no longer use it because it triggered her asthma and gave her a headache. Today we started a bottle with the new scent and I must echo the many reviews I see here: it’s horrible!! The smell is overwhelming, sickening, and headache-inducing. Why, why, why would you destroy a previously excellent product? The new scent is so atrociously bad, and it is so strong that our entire home smells like it from one dish-washing session. Your own product page has a huge number of similar and negative reviews, as does the wider internet. This is a serious misstep and mistake. Please do what Coke did when they introduced “new” Coke to a hugely negative reception and withdrew it and returned to the tried and true original product — bring back the regular, old Dawn. Will no longer be using Dawn and cannot recommend this product any longer.
