My Dawn, my Dawn, why have you forsaken me?

I have been a loyal Dawn user for over 25 years. Nothing else would do, very brand loyal. But the new fresh scent is horrible. It's like cheap perfume, I can't stand it. Headache inducing. I will throw it out and try a different brand altogether. It's even sadder that I had half a bottle of the old scent in a dispenser by my sink, and unknowingly topped it off with the new scent. Oh, the tragedy. So sad. A favorite product bites the dust.

We can assure you that our Dawn Original has been thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed. As well, a lot of thought goes into our products. This is the first scent change for Dawn Original in over 10 years, and it was implemented after receiving positive feedback during extensive testing with consumers. We'll make sure that your comments are shared with the rest of our team. We do recommend that you discontinue use of this particular product, if you haven't already, and we suggest giving another Dawn version a try if you'd prefer a different scent. You can find our lightest scent in our Dawn Free & Clear, and we also offer our Dawn Free & Clear Fragrance-Free. So that we can learn more and gather some details for our Safety Team, please give us a call at (800) 725-3296 when you have a chance.

I absolutely love this Dawn EZ squeeze. It’s easier to manage the amount you have to use. No leaks or waste. Breaks through all the dirt and grease easily. I will forever be a Dawn person because they devote their time to help animals.

Please go back to the original scent. The new scent is clearly not popular among your loyal customers. Why would you want to change it in the first place is beyond me.

We're sorry your nose doesn't agree with them, and will be sure to let our team know you'd like to return to the previous scent, as we do not have plans to return to that at this time. Unnecessary scent change

I very much dislike this new Clean Scent that you have on the original Dawn. It leaves a nasty perfume scent on my hands that won't go away. I have used the Original Dawn for at least 30 years and never strayed because it did NOT leave a scent on my hands afterward. I have reactions to scent/fragrances that linger on, and have disliked that so many products are adding so much fragrance. The very light scent of the Original Dawn was perfect. WHY???

Quality and safety have always been at the forefront of everything we do, and while scent preferences will always vary from person to person, we would not expect you to have a negative reaction when using it as directed. This is because all of our products go through extensive testing to ensure safety with proper use. Your wellbeing means a lot to us, so please discontinue using the Dishwashing Soap if you haven't done so already. To remove the scent from your hands, you can rewash them with a mild hand soap. It may take a few tries, but the smell will resolve. We truly value you as a consumer and hope you'll give Dawn another try. We have a variety of scents if the Original no longer meets your needs, including an unscented version called Dawn Free and Clear, Unscented. Awful new scent!!! Need to switch brands.

New scent is awful. It permeates the whole kitchen and leaves a taste.
Need to anther brand as the new scent was all they carried at Safeway.

We wouldn't expect the product to impart a scent or taste onto your dishes like this, but it may be possible if the product hasn't been completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have been worn to the point of being porous. For dishes that always pick up a scent or taste, we suggest making sure that they're rinsed immediately and not soaked. We hope this is helpful. Love it!

We try and do our part with the 3R’s (reduce,reuse,recycle) and we purchased this bottle about 5 months ago and it’s been going strong ever since. We buy the original blue in a large refill jug and just refill our daily use bottle when needed. The sticker stays on and doesn’t peel off even when wet. We definitely like the convenience of not having to open a bottle every time and there is no mess at all.

The new scents are being created by AI (artificial intelligence). here is the address of one website. https://www.moodify.ai/1141-2/. I mourned the 1990's Gain fragrance. But now they have ruined all products! The scents are too sweet, too strong, and make me nausous. Even Always pads stink. They smell like coconut. It is so strong that anyone near you will be able to smell your pad. How ridiculous! And I agree, there is no way to eliminate the stink of Dawn from your hands or dishes. If it ever used again to try to save wildlife, I am sure the canary (or duck) will gag and die. On the plus side, P&G says they have removed toxic chemicals from the fragrances. I would prefer no scent to the disgusting "new" scents.

Additionally, when we design our products, we do extensive research and consumer testing to create features that we think you will love. We know that scent preferences can vary from person to person, though, so we appreciate your taking the time to reach out. Your health and comfort always come first, so we recommend that you discontinue the use of any products that make you feel ill. Regarding our new Dawn Original scent lingering, we wouldn't expect this to be your experience either; however, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. To remove the scent/taste, please soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added. For cleaning your hands of the scent, using a mild soap should help. We take your report seriously, and our teams would like to gather some details of your experience and share info about our Dawn Free & Clear unscented version.
