It's completely unusable since you changed the formula. The scent is so powerful even rinsing in boiling water and leaving plasticwear out for days doesn't help get rid of the scent and it just makes me think if the scent is there what sort of toxins are being left behind on my dishes? I can't buy this until it's changed back.

Why change a cult classic?!

I've been using dawn for way over two decades. Not knowing of the change, I bought a bottle, fill up my kitchen dispenser, and actually gagged. Seriously. I rinsed a water glass over and over and over just to get the god awful scent off. I could handle the additional water in the new formula - but not (what I call) "Fabreze Acid Rain Original."

We can assure you that our Dawn Original has been thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed, and we also put a lot of thought into our products. We updated the scent back in February 2024 after receiving positive feedback during extensive testing with consumers. We'd also like to mention that the last change we made to the formula, which occurred earlier this year, was to help with improved grease cleaning as well as malodor reduction. Your comments will be shared with our team, and we do recommend that you discontinue use of this particular product, if you haven't already. We suggest giving another Dawn version a try, and it may be helpful to know that our Dawn Free & Clear features our lightest scent. We also offer our Dawn Free & Clear Fragrance-Free. New scent is horrible! Bring back the old Dawn!

Why on earth would they change the scent and not offer the old! It’s terrible, I’ve only used Dawn most of my life and I am going to forced to switch brands because the scent is terrible and I cannot stand to wash my dishes. People purchased Dawn exclusively because they were happy with the product! Unfortunately it’s obvious lost of loyal customers are going to be lost over this. So sad

Dawn Original Ruined by new sent

I just bought a new bottle of dawn original and noticed the sent was off. So I looked at the bottle more closely and it says new sent. I will be returning this bottle and trying another brand. I quite buying cascade after it went to its new fresh sent also. So disappointing when I've used both for many years. The new fresh sent is over powering and it leaches into the dishes leaving a sent and bad taste even being rinsed thoroughly.

We wouldn't expect Dawn to impart the of the product taste into food. However, it is possible if the soap isn't completely rinsed off or if the dishes have become porous. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. I’ve been a Dawn original scent user for decades but this revamped scent gives me a headache every time. Going to have to find something else instead. Too bad - 5 stars if you hadn’t messed with perfection.

The NEW CLEAN SCENT is horrible. It is anything but clean. If something is clean it has no smell. You had a good thing with original Dawn. I can no longer use your product. The “chemical scent” negatively impacts my eyes and sinuses and lord knows what else. We humans do not need any more unnecessary chemicals in our lives. My morning coffee now gives me a whiff of new clean scent and I don’t like it. I’ve been a Dawn customer for many years but sadly I can no longer use your product.
