Works but Stinks

Does a great job cleaning but stinks. I have to burn a candle after washing to get the smell out of the kitchen.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disgusting. Horrid. Avoid if you value your dishes

I’ve used Dawn almost exclusively for thirty years. I won’t be buying it again. The new scent will go down in history as the “New Coke” era of Dawn.
The scent is overpowering. I was cooking trout—a potent fish—in the oven, baking it. All anyone could smell was the new scent of Dawn. Worse: you cannot wash this scent off. Nothing takes it away. I washed my on-the-go coffee cup. The top is ruined. I have soaked the top overnight in water -*and bleach*, and it’s still there. It ruined my morning commute.
Someone owes me a new coffee cup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To remove the scent from your dishes, soak the items in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it, or if they're dishwasher safe, pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and directly into the dispenser, then run them through the machine. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out.

Your satisfaction means a lot to us, and we hope you'll give Dawn another try. We have a variety of scents if the Original no longer meets your needs, including an unscented version called Dawn Free and Clear, Unscented. Used to love dawn until they changed the scent

I used to love dawn and used it for many different cleaning purposes. Since the scent change, I can no longer use it since it smells like headache. It's too bad and I hope they actually take the feedback from so many disappointed customers and find a way to recreate the original scent, or something similar. It's not that the original scent was so fantastic, it's just that it smelled basic like soap instead of want to be air freshener that has no place on dishes.

New smell is terrible and makes me sick

The new scent gives me a headache almost instantaneously. It's false advertising to refer to it as "original scent" because it clearly isn't the original scent. I've purchased a few bottles online that say "original" and then have had them be the new scent. And even though everyone in my household agree it's the best for removing grease, it's only used in our house if I'm not home. But the scent lingers - I can smell if it's been used as soon as I walk in the door, even after 24 hours.

New scent is extremely unpleasant. Causes nausea and headache for people who are sensitive to smells. Bad idea. Will be changing brands and hope others will follow.

New scent is an Epic fail

I have always used Dawn. It's the only dish soap that doesn't break my hands out. This new scent is horrible. It smells like mildew. The dishes still smell like it after you rinse off. Now I have a full bottle of dawn on my counter, that will go in the trash.
