New scent a MASSIVE disappointment.

I never write reviews. Ever. But the OG scent change has me MASSIVELY disappointed. It feels ridiculous how disappointed I am over it, but the original scent and effectiveness has kept me a loyal customer for the past 20 years. Even switching back after a trial with Platinum, simply for the original scent. Obviously I'm biased over the OG scent, just as I see a lot the customers are, but it wasn't even switched to something that smells good! Why tweak a great thing that everyone loved?? 😭😭💔💔

Why? Would you change the scent everyone loves?

Please bring back the old scent. The new scent was so strong I had to throw the whole bottle away. The scent lingered on the dishes and made the food taste like perfume. Please switch back. You have lost a customer.

We're sorry to hear that this was your experience, as our Dawn Original has gone through many quality checks to ensure that you can enjoy using it with ease. We wouldn't expect the product to impart a scent onto your dishes/food. However, if the soap hasn't been rinsed off completely, or if the dishes have become worn to the point of being porous, it's possible. For dishes that seem to pick up a scent, we suggest making sure not to soak them and instead rinse them immediately. As well, a lot of thought goes into our products, and this fragrance change was implemented after receiving positive feedback during extensive testing with consumers. Terrible new smell

The new scent makes dishes smell like you paid a chain smoking dollar general worker to wash them with whatever chemicals they could find on the shelves

The 90’s called, it wants its cheap cologne back.

Life long user, and now I’m going to find a new dish soap. The scent change is terrible. It smells like teenage boys’ cologne from the 90’s. And stays on your dishes SO long. Dawn was known for being so gentle it could be used on poor little ducks who get stuck in oil spills. Now those poor ducks are going to go from one terrible smell to another terrible smell.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Consumer feedback is vital in helping us improve our products and ensuring that we deliver the best possible experience to our consumers; it’s also instrumental in guiding the Dawn Team as they continue to work on future innovations. In regard to the scent lingering, we wouldn't expect this to be your experience, however, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. To remove the scent/taste, please soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added. We hope this was helpful, but we'd like to learn more about your experience, try to make things right, and tell you more about our Dawn Free & Clear version that offers our lightest scent. I just got the new scent and I'm not happy the old scent was great and reminded me of my childhood the new one is too strong and made my hands itch 🙃

I used to be a devoted user of Dawn soap. With the new change in scent I can’t bear to use it anymore. It’s pungent and gives me a headache when I’m just trying to clean dishes.

Horrible new scent I like why did you change it??

I bought this dish soap and I use to love the original scent now this new scent is horrible I sneeze everytime I use it also the new scent is so strong it stays on my dishes on to my food horrible scent please please change it back so I can continue to buy
