New Scent? Why do you hate money?

NEW SCENT IS HORRIBLE!! I’ve used Dawn my entire life. People don’t buy Dawn because of its grease fighting abilities. All soap works. Soap is soap. We buy it because of the scent. That was all you had. And you changed it to the strongest most artificial floral stench you could find?? Why do you hate money? Put it back please. I don’t want to have to find a new soap.

Disgusting new clean scent

Terrible new scent.

New scent makes me nauseous. Used first time after decades of use. Couldn’t even wash the terrible odor off my hands. You have lost a customer. You should have left well enough alone.

We can assure you that our Dawn Original has been thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed, and we also put a lot of thought into creating features that we think you'll like. This scent change was implemented after receiving positive feedback during extensive testing with consumers. We'll be sure to share your comments with our team, and we suggest using a mild hand soap to help remove the scent from your hands. If you haven't already, we do recommend that you discontinue use of this particular product. We suggest giving our Dawn Free & Clear a try, as it features our lightest scent. Very disappointed

The new scent is terrible! Just because of the smell I feel like my dishes are dirtier than before washing them. On more than one occasion I've had to walk a way from the smell, because it was making me nauseous. Sadly after almost a lifetime of using what was once a great product I will not be buying Dawn until hopefully the original scent comes back.

Please make the original scent available again!

The new scent is horrible. I have been a loyal Dawn fan forever. The new scent smells like bad men's cologne, and persists on your hands and your utensils. Please change back to the original scent or at least make it available.

Consumer feedback is vital in helping us improve our products and ensuring that we deliver the best possible experience to our consumers; it’s also instrumental in guiding the Dawn Team as they continue to work on future innovations. In regard to the scent lingering, we wouldn't expect this to be your experience, however, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. To remove the scent/taste, please soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added. We hope this was helpful, but we'd like to learn more about your experience, try to make things right, and tell you more about our Dawn Free & Clear version that offers our lightest scent. BRING BACK THE OLD SCENT

The new scent is overwhelmingly strong and now makes this product smell like the store-brand version (i.e. cheaply made). The scent stays on dishes and you can taste it when eating or drinking from items cleaned with this soap. It is truly nauseating and headache-inducing. I will no longer purchase this product while it continues to be scented like it currently is and will look for a substitute.

Based on what you've shared, we hope you'll stop using your current bottle of Dawn, and call us for further assistance. While our Safety Team does assure us that all consumers should be safe with this Dawun Ultra, unique circumstances can occur. We hope you'll feel better soon, now that you're no longer using this bottle. To remove any scent that's stubbornly sticking around, soak the affected dishes in hot water with a little distilled white vinegar added to it. You may need to repeat this process, but it will help. Another down-vote for the new fragrance

Add me to the list of people who hate the new scent. Appreciate the replies from Customer Care telling us to rinse our dishes better, but when a web search auto-completes "hate the new smell" with "of dawn" then you clearly have a problem. Obviously taste in smells are individual, but the overpowering fragrance for a daily-use item is just thoroughly unnecessary no matter what the actual smell is. This stuff LINGERS. I love Dawn in general so will try to find a version that is less smelly. But folks, this was a bad call, and I would be delighted to see you reverse it.
