Disgusting. Horrid. Avoid if you value your dishes

I’ve used Dawn almost exclusively for thirty years. I won’t be buying it again. The new scent will go down in history as the “New Coke” era of Dawn.
The scent is overpowering. I was cooking trout—a potent fish—in the oven, baking it. All anyone could smell was the new scent of Dawn. Worse: you cannot wash this scent off. Nothing takes it away. I washed my on-the-go coffee cup. The top is ruined. I have soaked the top overnight in water -*and bleach*, and it’s still there. It ruined my morning commute.
Someone owes me a new coffee cup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To remove the scent from your dishes, soak the items in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it, or if they're dishwasher safe, pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and directly into the dispenser, then run them through the machine. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out.

New Dawn dish soap scent

The new Dawn Dish soap scent makes me sick. My sinuses and allergies flare every time I use it. It's a shame you had to change it after 10 years! Now, I need to find another that is not such a smelly irritant. I can't find any other Dawn unscented or scented on local shelves, so goodbye Dawn.

We suggest checking out our Dawn Free & Clear, as it features our lightest scent. We also have our Dawn Free & Clear Fragrance-Free available if you'd prefer an unscented product. Horrible smell

Hate this new scent

This is the only dish soap I have ever used and I'm going to have to find a new dish soap because I can't stand the smell of this new "clean" scent. And the smell lingers on dishes. Nasty.

In regard to the scent lingering and affecting your taste, we wouldn't expect this to be your experience, however, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. To remove the scent/taste, please soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added. We hope this was helpful, but we'd like to learn more about your experience, try to make things right, and tell you more about our Dawn Free & Clear version that offers our lightest scent. HORRIBLE Change!!

Who was the IDIOT that decided the BEST dishsoap in the world wasn't good enough??? Why didn't you just Add a new product??? Maybe the cleaning power is the same, but my hands are ALLERGIC to the Stinky new one & all the others! PLEASE bring back the ORIGINAL... Then I, & many others, will return to Dawn. Until then, I can't. Thank you
