Awful scent!

I am horrified by the new scent!! Why oh why would P&G ruin a great product by adding scent? Many of us are scent-sensitive - this new scent caused hives on my hands and arms almost immediately after first use. Not to mention the headache this awful scent caused. I am beyond disappointed.

Bring back the real original scent!

The new “clean scent” is obnoxious. We’re throwing it out. Please bring back the “original” original!

New scent

Just another review about the terrible new scent. I cant put my finger on what is so awful about it, but I find it absolutely nauseating. Maybe it’s just because it’s just SO strong. It made me think maybe I was pregnant again… nope! I can smell it just walking through the kitchen and it lingers on my hands and my baby’s bottles. It’s not like I loved the old scent but it wasn’t nearly as overpowering. Won’t be purchasing again.

Horrible sent. Smells like Febreze

I can’t believe you changed the smell. It is so horrible and nauseating. The label is totally misleading by stating original scent. I was a lifelong user of dawn, but there’s no way I will continue to use this now. It’s so overwhelming and perfumed. Whoever decided to change the scent should have done some market research. Dawn blue soap was one of my favorite cleaning products but now I will find something else.

Nothing to look forward to anymore….

I used to go through a lot of dawn since I use it to clean my bathroom and kitchen. I would actually look forward to scrubbing my shower or doing dishes because of how good original dawn smelled and it literally gave me so much joy, but now, this “ New Clean Scent” makes me sick. It smells like cheap overpowering perfume and I noticed it smells like the wannabe store brands versions of dawn. I’m not sure whose idea it was to change the perfectly beautiful scent of the classic dawn, the dish soap that millions of people swear by and are willing spend a little more for, but they should be fired to be brutally honest. Why would you make a mild scent into a disgustingly potent scent that is headache inducing? Beats me. Please listen to your customers and change it back, because if the company is trying to cut costs by using this formula, you may be cutting out most of your loyal customers instead.

Terrible new scent

The new scent is AWFUL. Smells like old lady perfume and is thin and runny. It just pours out of the new squeeze bottle like a river. I have been using Dawn dish soap for as long as I can remember and it was always a quality product. Why fix something that’s not broken 😡 will not purchase again. Bring back the original or I’m sure many people will look for a new dish soap.

We're sorry to hear that this has been your experience. A lot of thought goes into the design of our products, and we also have many quality checks in place to ensure that Dawn reaches you in the best possible condition. While we did recently update our Dawn Original scent, we'd like to mention that no other changes were made to the formula. It may be helpful to know that extreme temperatures can make the consistency of a dishwashing liquid thin/watery, but it isn't permanent. Once back to room temperature, it should return to its normal consistency and is still safe and effective to wash your dishes with. While we don't currently have plans to reintroduce our previous Dawn Original scent, we do have other Dawn versions available that we hope you'll try out. Your feedback will be shared with the rest of our team, and please give us a call at (800) 725-3296 if you'd like any further assistance.
