Terrible

The new smell is sickening! I do not want my dishes to smell like horrible perfume. I am making the change away from this product. I am sad about it but they are determined to not offer both.

The fragrance change was made after receiving positive feedback during extensive testing, and it is the first scent change in over 10 years. We truly value your feedback, and your comments will be shared with the Dawn Team. While our Safety Team does assure us that, when used as directed, you’ll be comfortable and safe with any Dawn dish soap, we do encourage you to stop using your current bottle so you’ll not have an experience such as you’ve described. Remember, we do offer a variety of scents, including an unscented version called Dawn Free and Clear, Fragrance Free. We’d be happy to send you a coupon to try another Dawn scent on us, so you can still enjoy the great cleaning benefits that Dawn offers. Sickening smell

Sorry this new scent is too perfumy. The smell doesn't wash off dishes and glassware.

A lot of thought goes into our products, and this fragrance change was implemented after receiving positive feedback during extensive testing with consumers. As well, we can assure you that our Dawn Original has been thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used, and we also have many quality checks in place to ensure that you can use Dawn with ease. If you'd like to remove the scent from your dishes, we suggest soaking them in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it runnning them through the dishwasher (assuming the dishes are dishwasher safe). We'll be sure to share your comments with our team, and we do recommend discontinuing use of this particular product. For our lightest scent, we suggest giving our Dawn Free & Clear a try. We also have our Dawn Free & Clear Fragrance-Free available. So that we can learn more and gather some additional details for our Safety Team, please give us a call at (800) 725-3296 when you can.

New terrible scent

Bring back the original scent, if I wanted my dishes to taste like gain after washing them I would buy gain. The new scent is terrible and overpowering.

Smells horrid!

Why did they change it? The new scent smells disgusting, like chemicals. I wish they would bring back the old scent. I may have to look for another brand.

Great Product - Abysmal new smell…

Very annoyed and disappointed that the original scent has been changed to an aroma of a teenage perfume masking a dirty room.
Whose job was it to change the scent that’s been around since the DAWN of its time? Do you have marketing members whose job it is to create needless work?
Needless to say, I’m glad they offer other scents, but this new one is nauseous at best compared to the old original scent.

Awful new fresh scent.

I picked up a bottle of dawn dish soap regular scent. Been using this type for many years. Why why why did you change the original scent to “New Fresh Scent”??? I will not be buying this product again. What a mistake. So disappointing.

Awful, sickening new scent

I am so disappointed in Dawn. It wouldn't allow me to select zero stars or I would rate the new original Dawn a 0. If the company wants multiple scents, great have a line of scents. Please don't change tried and true originals. The bottle said "original" so we missed the "now a new scent". It is not fresh or clean - it smells like every other chemically created, over-the-top fragrance and triggered immediate dizziness and shortness of breath. I washed my hands over and over trying to get the scent off because it then triggered breathing difficulty and a skin reaction. My kids walked in and asked what the awful smell is. This definitely is no longer being used for shelter animals or grease stains either. I have used Dawn my entire life, but no longer.
