New smell is AWFUL!

The new smell is awful. I've used Dawn for years because it didn't smell toxic and worked well. NOW it smells toxic like most products I avoid on the market. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!

Awful New Scent

The *New* scent in 2024 is AWFUL! My whole adult life I've used Dawn, My Mom used Dawn soap, I hate that I have to find something else. Why on earth did you change it? It leaves a scent on my dishes and smells more like laundry soap.

The new smell is awful. I’m so disappointed because I love the product but I won’t be able to use it. Smells so artificial. I doubt it’s a product that will be able to be used to help wildlife in oil spills anymore.

I know it seems hyperbolic bc it’s soap but woooow

The new formula is heinous. I have had two brand loyalties my entire 32 years in earth: Dawn dish soap and Heinz ketchup. Now I have one, Heinz. After 32 years of using and preferring Dawn to any other dish soap, I was forced (by Dawn’s horrible decision) to buy several gigantic bottles of Palmolive. So I’ll be set for at least a year.
Why couldn’t I just use the Dawn with the new formula? Because I wash all my dishes by hand (no dishwasher) and your new soap not only bubbles very poorly but also leaves a scented film on anything it touches. It’s truly gag inducing- everyone I’ve asked about this agrees and can’t imagine what would cause such a drastic formula change.
Here’s why I liked the old Dawn over any other dish soap:
1. It didn’t take much soap to create a good foamy lather.
2. In a world of bad to mediocre chemical scents, Dawn had a subtle, clean, airy scent that wasn’t headache-inducing.
3. It washed away easily, and dishes were quick to clean for that reason.
4. Even though it cost a little more than other dish soaps, I had peace of mind purchasing it because I knew I’d be getting a great product I could use for dishes, washing my car, or treating cooking oil stains.

Now none of those things are true. Palmolive checks those boxes now. I’d rather it be Dawn, but now I’ve lost trust. What about your most sensitive customers? I’m not sensitive to smells but plenty of people I know are and they used Dawn. The change was not called out loudly enough on packaging. It just feels ready disrespectful to your customer base. This is Dawn we’re taking about. It was the best, even people who used other brands due to cost agreed Dawn was the best. Can you imagine if Chanel no5 just up and changed their formula? And just stuck a little “new formula” sticker and that’s that? No. Dawn lost a lifelong customer in me, my divorced parents (more households = more dish soap), my partner’s divorced parents, as well as most of my coworkers. I can only speak for myself about the permanency of that choice, but I’m good for at least a year. And I don’t appreciate being sold a clearly inferior product after decades of loyalty.

Awful New Scent

I've been using Dawn Dish Soap for years and love how the product works; however, I will no longer purchase it. The new "Clean Scent" smells like cheap, woman's perfume and is so hard on the senses. I have looked everywhere and cannot find the original scent which was perfect.

Nasty Surprise!

I bought the EZ-Squeeze for the first time yesterday and didn’t notice the new clean scent label. When I activated the bottle I was punched in the nose with the most disgusting, chemically, floral scent I’ve experienced in a long time. My first thought was that I’d been duped into buying a look-a-like knock off, but no, I was holding an actual Dawn product in my hand. Your new scent reminds me of when my mother used to drag me along to Bath and Body Works. All of their floral scents would mix together in the air making a nauseous cloud of torturous mega scent. I couldn’t stand your new scent long enough to properly test the squeeze bottle design. It infuriates me that I had to throw it away, wasting the product, plastic and my money! I don’t mind companies playing with new scents but this one is just. . . down right. . . hideous!!!
