ABSOLUTELY SICKENING, AWFUL AND DISGUSTING

There are not enough negative words in the English language to describe how much I HATE the new scent. I had to give 1 star to leave a review but it is ZERO stars. I have never written a review in my entire life but I am so disgusted with the new Dawn scent that I had to write a review. I have used Dawn my entire adult life but I will NEVER use it again because this new scent is absolutely atrocious. It is nauseating. It is disgusting. And as others have said, the smell stays on your dishes. The first time I used it on my water bottle that I take to work, I couldn't even drink the water for lunch. It tasted like perfume. I rinsed the bottle many, many times and the smell and taste will not go away. I have not been able to drink out of it since. How is this even possible!?!? What did you put in this that it sticks to all of your dishes!?!? Thanks Proctor and Gamble. Are you going to give all of your customers the money it's going to cost us to replace all of our dishes that are now ruined. Also, my favorite cup to drink out of at home is stainless steel and has a rubber handle and the smell will not come out of that. Every time I take a drink, it smells and tastes like old rancid perfume that's been in the cupboard for 50 years. I am going to try soaking them in vinegar and water to see if the smell will come out. This is ridiculous that I should even have to do this!!!! Whoever invented this new scent and whoever approved it should be fired immediately. I cannot believe that ANYONE thought that this was a good idea. You have lost a customer. I will NEVER purchase Dawn again.

Because this is the first scent change in over 10 years for this dish soap, we're aware there may be disappointment or concerns. Safety is our top priority, and all our products are thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed. However, after reading your review, we ask you to stop using the dish soap; put it in a safe space where it won't be tossed out, as we may ask you to return it to us. Smells AWFUL!

I have always used and loved Dawn dish soap. But this new scent is AWFUL! Please! Please! Please! Give us back the old Dawn scent. This smells like nothing I would want to clean my dishes with. Come on Dawn do better. Why change a good thing. Nobody's going to start buying Dawn just because it has a "clean scent". In fact, I'd say you're going to lose a huge customer base .... us included.

The new "scent is terrible"

We have been using dawn on my house for 20 plus years and this new scent is so terrible it makes my head hurt. It sticks to my hands too. I have to wash my hands after washing dishes. Booo

Hate the new scent! Smell is too strong and florally. No I don't want a new scent, no I don't want to use any of your other options, nothing has changed with my dishes or the way I wash them. Gave me a headache and irritated my eyes, nose and throat. Had to resort to taking Benadryl. Made hands and dishes smell awful. The only thing different is the yucky scent. Give us back the old one.

Ruined Product

New scent gave me an instant migraine. I can't use it now. It is disgusting. I used dawn because of the original scent. You ruined it.

Not the product it used to be

They changed the smell of the dish soap. It sticks to dishes and food. I wouldn’t trust it to wash a duck anymore. I grew up using this product all the time, but we won’t be buying this anymore. The smell is just disgusting now that it’s been sticking to everything we clean.

Your newest bottle of Dawn Ultra with Original Scent should clean your dishes well and leave them with nothing but shine. We're sorry you've been struggling with the scent update, and want to assure you that, when thoroughly rinsed, all Dawn dish soaps rinse cleanly away. If your dishes are holding onto the scent, it's possible they need more rinsing. It should also be noted that plastic-wear grows porous with age, and can absorb scent more easily with wear. If this is the case, don't soak the dishes, but wash and rinse them quickly. We'd be happy to talk further with you about this, and help you find a new Dawn favorite to try, such as a version from our Free & Clear line. Currently, we have two varieties available. New scent smells toxic

I have only used Dawn dish soap until now. I can’t breathe in the new scent- it smells toxic and gives me a head ache. I don’t feel comfortable using it anymore. I am no longer a dawn dish soap customer.
