The happiness of everyone who picks up a bottle of Dawn Ultra with the new Original Scent is very important to us and we only want to help you have the best experience possible. As we did recently introduce an updated scent to Dawn Ultra with Original Fragrance, we're aware this transition to lead to disappointment or inconvenience. We do apologize for this. We're also sorry to learn your dishes are holding onto the scent. Because dishes can absorb scent more easily as they age, especially if they're made of plastic or some types of metals, it may be helpful to not soak these dishes in the soapy water, but wash and rinse them quickly. Another thing to consider is giving a different, lightly scented Dawn a try, such as one of our two Dawn Free & Clear options. One has a "Lemon Essence" scent, while the other is "Fragrance Free". We're sorry you've experienced a scent lingering on your dishes. Extensive research and consumer testing goes into our products to create appealing features, and our products undergo stringent quality controls to ensure performance and safety. When the soap scent lingers on your dishes, there could be a few potential causes for this happening. Over time, dish soap buildup can accumulate on dishes, especially if they’re not rinsed thoroughly or if too much soap is used. Also, if you have hard water, it can interfere with the effectiveness of the soap and leave behind residue. In cases of hard water, using a water filter may help. For best results, add about 2 tablespoons of dish soap to the sink, then add water that’s 105-115°F. If you would prefer an unscented product, we recommend our new Dawn Free & Clear Fragrance-Free dish soap in the EZ-Squeeze bottle.
