The original Dawn scent was perfect the way it was. It was one of the main reasons I liked Dawn dish soap. I can't understand why it was changed. I realize that many have already expressed their disappointment and what I have to say probably won't change anything either, but I would like to ask you change it back. The new scent is so strong and unpleasant and like others have said it is difficult to get the taste of it off my dishes. I don't plan to buy again unless it's changed.

Firstly, please know that we're thankful for you being a loyal Dawn user and for taking the time out of your day to ensure your voice is heard. Whenever we make changes, we do extensive testing to get the scent just right, but it should never stay behind on your dishes. However, if dishes are porous, so very old, cast iron, or plastic, it can absorb the scent. With these dishes, please rinse off right away. Do not let them soak. The new scent is over powering. It lingers on clean dishes and over powers food. It stays on your hands like a bad perfume. I’ve been using Dawn for 20 years and will definitely have to switch to a more neutral clean scent like Palmolive unless the original scent returns. Please bring back the classic original scent.

Horrible. Didn’t notice the “new clean scent” on label until my daily water (no matter whether I use my usual mug or a glass) tasted like disgusting soap. I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time extra-rinsing to try to get rid of this. The smell while washing dishes is unpleasant and makes me sneeze. I’m done with Dawn. That may sound extreme but this product is really gross & unsatisfactory. As soon as I purchase a new dish soap, I’m either going to throw this out or save for cleaning the really disgusting outdoor yard ornaments. It’s not meant for dishes off which you eat. I was moved to write a review to let manufacturers know they really need to rethink this product. It’s really bad.

I’ve been using Dawn dish soap for a quarter of a century. Not anymore. Did not even notice that the scent had changed on the new bottle I purchased until I started using it. Smells like very overpowering cheap old lady perfume. You have officially lost a once loyal customer. I’m going tomorrow to buy a bottle of Palmolive or Ivory and this nasty stuff is going where it belongs…a landfill. Whoever pitched the idea to “fix” a product that was not broken and loved for generations should be fired.

The new clean scent is horrific! Smells like laundry detergent and the smell lingers both on hands and dishes. My asthma is also very sensitive to chemical smells and instantly had a problem with this scent! Please dawn whatever you do don’t get rid of the original scent. This change was so unnecessary.
