Nauseating new smell

New clean scent is awful! The smell is so strong that I get headaches washing my dishes. I was a loyal "Dawn-only" customer, as nothing else cleans quite as well, but I may have to switch to something sub-par because of the nauseating smell. Regardless of whether or not this is your first scent change in 10 years, sometimes it's best to just stick with what is working instead of switching it up for the sake of something new.

I HATE the new clean scent. Just awful. I’m frugal but this stinks so much I’m gonna throw it away

The new smell hurts my head and leaves the scent lasting in the air and on my dishes. It would be nice to have fragrance free again as I do not want my dishes to have fragrances on them, and I cannot handle any products with fragrance due to migraines.

I have used Dawn original for years and have always loved it. The new fresh clean scent is horrible!!! The smell makes us sneeze and irritates our sinuses! Please bring back the original scent, in the meantime I’m sad to say I’m looking for a new dish soap!

New smell is so strong we smell it three rooms away. Are you kidding dawn? To make it worse it is a horrible smell.. Who made that "corporate" decision?

I have been a very loyal blue dawn customer for almost 20 years. I use it to remove stains in the laundry, we use it as hand soap and dish soap. We just bought a refill and experienced the "New clean scent" for the first time. It is going to ruin this product for us. It's too overwhelming. I don't want my hands, dishes or laundry to smell of that perfume smell. We are very disappointed and sad to loose the effectiveness of such a great product.

Dawn is one of the few brands I’ve been truly loyal to for years and it cleans better than any other dish soap I’ve tried, but I’m not able to use it with this new scent. The smell is so strong it gives me a headache, the same with the platinum. It smells like heavily scented fabric softener and the scent lingers on my dishes and my hands all day. Please bring back the old scent!

Firstly, thank you so much for your years of love, support, and loyalty. Above all else, your safety and complete satisfaction comes first. We do numerous quality and safety tests to get the scents of our products just right, and of course, our Dawn Ultra EZ Squeeze and Dawn Platinum aren't an exception. While scent preferences will vary from person to person, when used as directed, it should never be too strong that it causes headaches. Please discontinue using it. In the future, if your dishes scent changes due to the dish soap, it could be that the dishes are porous and absorb the scent. Porous dishes are typically your cast irons, plastics, and or worn down dishes. With these dishes, we recommend you don't soak them, and to wash them right away. Regardless, this isn't something we take lightly, and we'd like to make detailed reports to our Quality and Safety Teams. Please give us a call at (800) 725-3296.
