Smells terrible

Extremely offensive smell and when using hot water it floats throughout the kitchen dining &living room. Who wants a fragrance like that so strong and unpleasant. You ruined what was a great product, now shooping for another brand

The new scent is awful!! Did you consider those that are allergic or sensitive to fragrance? Why change a good thing?! Won't buy again.

This new scent is absolutely terrible...and it can no longer be listed as original scent like it is here...it can't be Original if its a new scent. I have only used Original Dawn Dish soap for as long as I can remember and now I absolutely cannot use it. I used it for the first time tonight to hand wash all my dishes and I can't get the smell out of my hands so I hope my dishes don't hold the smell. It was all I could do to even complete doing the dishes using it, that's how bad it is and it was making me queasy. Please correct this and bring back the true Original Scent.

The scent is awful!!! It is way too strong, my whole sink area stinks of it, my hands stay smelling so strong of it ,and the worse is when I want to put savory food on my plate that smells like strong flowers. Whose idea is to make dishes you are going to eat off of smell like super strong flowers or fabric softenerm

While we did update the scent of this dish soap, what you've described isn't what we expect to hear from any of our consumers. Be sure to fully rinse your dishes, especially those that are cast iron and plastic-based, as these two materials tend to absorb scent. In fact, if you find the same dishes keep retaining scent, take care not to soak them, but wash and rinse them immediately. Over time, some dishes can become very porous and it may be time to replace them. “New Clean Scent” is terrible and overpowering. Never thought I’d need to find a new dish detergent, but here we are. I have purchased Dawn my entire adult life, but I will not buy it anymore unless they switch back. I will also be returning the bottle I just purchased.

"New Clean Scent" is a chemical nightmare and is nothing like the original scent we have all relied upon for so many years. Dawn original (classic) is/was my go to for cleaning everything including clothing and just washing my hands all day. Please please do not wash the baby ducks with the New Clean Scent! I have tried everywhere to find remaining containers of the original scent - but stores are stocking up on bad chemical smell New Clean Scent. HELP all of us Dawn and bring back the classic original scent. If anyone knows of a dupe I will gladly shop that product. For now, my Dawn purchases are on strike.

I won’t be buying this product anymore. The new scent is terrible and lingers. It stays on the item after you rinse. The last straw for me was when I made my eggs on a pan washed with the new scented Dawn and I could smell it while cooking the eggs. Please go back to the original scent. We’re all begging you.

Please know, we don't expect any version of Dawn to impart the taste of the product onto food. However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous. Take care not to soak these dishes and to rinse them immediately. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. You may consider giving Dawn Free & Clear a try, as it has the lightest scents and may be the best option for you.
