Appalling odor

The new fragrance is awful and cloying, and the fact you don’t offer a single unscented product is really just inexcusable and disappointing. You were my favorite soap, and now I have to throw away the soap I recently got and find a new brand. Yes, it’s that bad.

New Scent Stinks

Why did you change the original scent to this new awful, noxious, perfumey mess?!?
Will quite literally never be buying Dawn again because of this. There is nothing worth using the obnoxious clingy cheap perfume scent of this once perfect dish soap. I'd rather wash my dishes in skunk spray, which is a more pleasant and easier to remove smell than this garbage new formula.
The consensus of the entire Internet seems to be that this scent change and additions of new chemicals making it useless to wildlife rescues was a foolish mistake and one no one wanted or asked for.

Give us back our old scent

Please stop the new scent. It is so bad and we want the old one back. It is not clean or fresh, it is strong and fake smelling.

Terrible new scent

The new scent is AWFUL. Smells like old lady perfume and is thin and runny. It just pours out of the new squeeze bottle like a river. I have been using Dawn dish soap for as long as I can remember and it was always a quality product. Why fix something that’s not broken 😡 will not purchase again. Bring back the original or I’m sure many people will look for a new dish soap.

A lot of thought goes into the design of our products, and we also have many quality checks in place to ensure that Dawn reaches you in the best possible condition. While we did recently update our Dawn Original scent, we'd like to mention that no other changes were made to the formula. It may be helpful to know that extreme temperatures can make the consistency of a dishwashing liquid thin/watery, but it isn't permanent. Once back to room temperature, it should return to its normal consistency and is still safe and effective to wash your dishes with. While we don't currently have plans to reintroduce our previous Dawn Original scent, we do have other Dawn versions available that we hope you'll try out. Bad new scent

The new original scent is absolutely disgusting and clings to everything. I don’t want the dishes I cook and eat with to smell like artificial air freshener. I don’t understand why this change was made. I have loved Dawn dish soap for years, but I won’t be buying it anymore.

Smells absolutely horrible now

The new scent is horrible. It’s like someone sprayed frebreeze directly into your face. I have used Dawn soap my entire life, but I will never buy another bottle until they go back to the old scent.

"New clean scent" is terrible! nothing "clean" smelling about it. It's that sort of fruity flowery chemical. Bring back the actual clean smelling Original Scent!
