Bring back the original scent

I've been a faithful user/purchaser of Dawn dish soap (original scent) my entire adult life due to not only it's great cleaning power, but maninly because of the iconic original scent that smells amazing. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until a recent purchase that the scent has changed and I hate it! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the original scent!!! There's nothing else like it! I'm so sad. :(

Wretched stench of death

This is the nastiest, most wretched smelling dish soap I've ever had the misfortune of using. The whole house is affected by the gag-inducing stench. The dishes have the lingering smell/taste, and it makes my hands itch and burn. I will never buy this again. From all the other customer reviews, you have to know how many customers you've lost. Does anybody there care?

Please know, Tara, there’s nothing more important to us than your safety. The good news is what you’re sharing is likely caused by a couple reasons we can explain. One is that more rinsing may be needed, and the second, especially if it’s a particular set of dishes that are absorbing taste, could be the result of the dishes growing porous with age. However, because of other things you’ve shared, we do believe it’s possible you may have a unique sensitivity to this updated fragrance, and we ask you to stop using the soap. Put the remaining bottle in a spot it’ll be easily retrieved, in case we ask you to send it to us. The happiness of everyone who picks up a bottle of Dawn Ultra with the new Original Scent is very important to us and we only want to help you have the best experience possible. As we did recently introduce an updated scent to Dawn Ultra with Original Fragrance, we're aware this transition to lead to disappointment or inconvenience. We do apologize for this. We're also sorry to learn your dishes are holding onto the scent. Because dishes can absorb scent more easily as they age, especially if they're made of plastic or some types of metals, it may be helpful to not soak these dishes in the soapy water, but wash and rinse them quickly. Another thing to consider is giving a different, lightly scented Dawn a try, such as one of our two Dawn Free & Clear options. One has a "Lemon Essence" scent, while the other is "Fragrance Free". Why mess with what works?!

When something works for as long as this product has, you do not mess with it! The new scent and formula altogether are terrible. The smell is nauseating and more product has to be used. I am pretty sure one of the main reasons most people used this is due to it being a quality product and not much was needed because it went a long way. The funny thing is, after reading a lot of the recent reviews it seems as if P & G is copying and pasting most of their replies. They are blaming the consumer for not "using the product correctly" or to "try another scent". Come on, you all can do better. Listen to the customer because we are what keeps the company going.

New formula is terrible!

I recently bought another bottle and the new smell is terrible!! You also have to use way more product now. When something has worked for as long as this product has, leave it alone, please! It needs to go back to the original formula and scent.

The Original Scent it uses was recently updated, and we're sorry you're not enjoying it. It may help to know that no Dawn dish soap should leave the fragrance of the soap behind. However, older dishes, or ones that are made of plastic and some kinds of metal can grow porous and hold onto scent. If that's the case, be sure to wash and rinse your dishes, don't soak them in soapy water, as this could increase scent retention. Need more help? New Scent Awful

I have used Dawn dish soap for as long as I can remember. The new scent is awful! I wont buy it again. Before the new scent I would have rated it 5 stars. Such a shame because other than the smell I love the product.

Severe allergy to this horrible new smell!!!

I am allergic to this horrible smell. I start sneezing and get a migraine from it. Why would you change the smell and not just add a new line. This is horrible!!!! I am having to change soap. My hands are even breaking out!!! Please never use this on animals.
