Don’t Buy Dawn’s Fresh New Scent Detergent

I only use Dawn because of how good it cleans. However, after purchasing a bottle a couple of months ago for when I ran out, I was shocked by the new scent. I sneeze nonstop while washing dishes. And I can’t get the scent off my hands once I finish washing. Dawn’s new scent is horrendous.

New scent

The new scent is horrible and the worst part is you can’t wash it out of your dishes. My grand-babies bottles are so bad because you rinse and rinse and somehow it never gets the smell out. Please bring back that wonderful low smelling scent that easily rinsed away. The new smell honestly gives me a headache.

1. Soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it or
2. Run them through the dishwasher (assuming the dishes are dishwasher-safe). If you choose to wash the dishes in the dishwasher, pour some vinegar into the bottom and some vinegar directly into the dispenser. You can also put a cup of vinegar upright on the top rack of the dishwasher so that it gets knocked over and distributed during the wash. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out.

Those Poor Ducklings

Absolutely terrible new scent. They changed the consistency of the soap to be more watery too. All around terrible. If I were a duckling I’d hate being cleaned with this new Dawn. Bring back the original Dawn please!

Gross smelling

The new scent is gross and reminds me of nasty perfume and is sickeningly floral. I hope Dawn realizes this mistake and goes back to the original scent we all know and love.

HATE new scent Never Buying Again 42 year user BYE

I have been buying Dawn my entire adult life, I am 42 so that is a lot of Dawn. My mom used Dawn and the smell is very nostalgic for me. I got into an argument with my wife a number of years ago because she wanted to switch to some green washed eco bs dish soap. I said I don’t care I am buying Dawn. But the new scent is not only not the same, which kills the nostalgia aspect, but it smells awful and cheap. It’s garbage! I will never buy it again unless they change it back. I also will refuse to just buy another P+G dish soap out of protest. Will just have to buy the fancy health food co-op brand instead.

Horrible change to the "Original" scent.

"Original" does not mean "New"!! The New Clean Scent claimed to be original is horrible! Very overpowering perfume. There is a reason a consumer continues to buy a product. It is because they like it. When you change it they will probably not like the change. You want to create a new product with a new scent, have at it, but don't change the "Original" and still call it "Original". Completely idiotic. Won't be buying this product anymore.
