Very Disappointed

I agree with all the negative comments regarding the new scent. I have been using Dawn for over 30 years and was disappointed when I realized you have changed to a new scent. We have children with allergies to smells. I have now discontinued buying your product and have now switched to unscented Palmolive. With more and more children developing tons of allergies to foods and chemicals why would you "fix" something that wasn't broken. Your free and clear soap also states that it has a pear scent, so it isn't even an option. You will be loosing a lot of loyal customers and Palmolive will be gaining a lot of new ones.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We think you may be referring to Dawn Powerwash Dish Spray Free & Clear with a Light Pear scent. Yes, this product does have a light fragrance. However, we've recently introduced Dawn E-Z Squeeze Free & Clear Fragrance-Free to our line, as it has all of the cleaning power of Dawn with no added scent. I've used the "Dawn" with "New Fresh Scent" for about a week now and I'm horribly disappointed. I have asthma along with allergies. Whatever "scent" has been used to replace the previous scent, is nothing less than cheap. Like taking a whiff of a bottle of axe body spray, it lingers in the nasal and sinus passages. Additionally, it has ruined one of my pans despite rinsing profusely as well as cleaning with other cleaners. Apparently high temperatures do not mix well with residue.
I mention these things because I've used Dawn for 25 years. I've always been insistent on it's effectiveness and the fact that it is safe to use with animals. However, switching to this new scent seems nothing short of careless.

We have been using Ultra for many years. It has been hands-down our preferred dish detergent. We bought two bottles last month with the “new scent” and absolutely HATE it. Why destroy a successful product? What an absolutely obnoxious scent!!! We are throwing them out. What are you thinking? Get rid of this awful awful smell and go back to the way it’s been for years.

I am begging, pleading and urging y'all to go back to the old scent. This new scent should have been an optional choice. The original blue dawn scent is so nostalgic to me, it's up there as one of my all time favorite scents. Of all the things going on in this world and y'all take away a small happy place of mine. Please bring back the original scent 😞 this is crazy

I have been a loyal customer for many years. I think like most folks we tend to use the products we grew up with. Not sure why a marketing rep would think a change in fragrance would help their sales? The scent of familiar product feels like home to most people. The original scent was not overpowering and smelled clean. This new fragrance is awful! My dog won’t even eat from a dish cleaned with it! Fortunately I was able to find one large container of the original formula. Once that bottle is empty I’ll be looking for new dish soap : ( I think the Execs at Dawn have made a poor decision for their company.

The new smell is TERRIBLE! If I could give this zero stars, I would. I don't understand why they would change to this new scent. The smell is so strong and pungent, it lingers and gives me a headache. The awful scent permeates into the dishes so you can taste it later. I am a long time user of Dawn exclusively for dish soap, but I will no longer be buying any Dawn products.

If I wanted my dishes to smell like laundry detergent. I would put them in the washing machine. I will never understand why corporations. Change time test products, beloved by Americans. Who talks them into this kind of idiotic idea? I have never met a single person who complained about the original scent. Do they really believe they will attract new customers with a new scent? I would bet you will lose more long time customers then newly acquired ones. Fire who ever is responsible and immediately change it back.
