New scent is bad

The new scent stays on my dishes and doesn’t rinse off.

The Original Scent it uses was recently updated, and we're sorry you're not enjoying it. It may help to know that no Dawn dish soap should leave the fragrance of the soap behind. However, older dishes, or ones that are made of plastic and some kinds of metal can grow porous and hold onto scent. If that's the case, be sure to wash and rinse your dishes, don't soak them in soapy water, as this could increase scent retention. Need more help? Terrible new scent

The new “clean” scent is absolutely terrible. It makes doing the dishes, an already annoying task, unbearable.

Unpleasant Scent

The new Clean Scent is overpowering and heavily perfumed. There is nothing “clean” about it. I wanted to buy the orange but my local grocery store stopped carrying it.

New Scent is Nauseating

New scent is nauseating. PLEASE go back to the regular scent. I am a 3rd generation Dawn dish soap user and have ALWAYS used it. We had to throw away the full ‘new scent’ bottle. I’m having to switch to another dish soap unless y’all go back to the original scent. Please go back 🙏

We're so sorry to confirm that there's no plans to return to the previous scent, but happy to help you find a new Dawn favorite, such as the Dawn Free & Clear "Fragrance Free" or Dawn Free & Clear "Lemon Essence". Keep an eye out for either of these clear dish soaps next time you're at your favorite store. Because of what you've mentioned in your review, we do ask you to stop using your current bottle of Dawn. Although our Safety Team assures us that, when used as directed, your comfort is assured, you may have a personal sensitivity that causes what you've mentioned. Don't buy, new scent is headache inducing perfume.

The new clean scent is very gross. It smells like perfume. It is somehow sticking to all of my dishwear. At first I thought only porous dishes, but nope. All of them that I washed. I now have zero useable soap and dirty dishes, no way to clean them. The heavy scent is triggering a headache. I have been a diehard Dawn fan (I always even wanted the original scent as a candle, haha) and now I won't ever buy again. It really sucks to have an old classic taken away. I hope I can return this bottle because I can't use it without a migraine.

Terrible new scent

There is noting "original" about this scent. The old scent was perfectly fine and was the reason I used Dawn. This new scent is so awful it literally makes me sick to my stomach. As long as Dawn gas this new updated scent, I will never buy another bottle of Dawn. Whoever approved the scent change should be fired.
