Horrible sickening, new fresh scent

If I could give this new fresh scent a zero I would. I was devastated to find out that Dawn original will be no more and is replaced with new fresh scent. I have been using Dawn for over 30 plus years. This new scent is so sickening, it was so over powering and smelled like perfume. I immediately started to get a severe headache and my nose started to burn. I couldn’t believe what I was smelling, it smells like perfume/ laundry soap/ softener whose idea was it to put this in dish soap? It made my hands stink for hours and the horrible smell lingered in my house literally making me sick to my stomach. I will no longer be buying any dawn products. I will be switching to palmolive. Please bring back Dawn original

Our Safety Team would like us to share that they’ve made sure that this dish soap, when used as directed, shouldn’t lead to what you’ve described, so it’s likely you have a unique sensitivity. We hope you’ll stop using this bottle, but please put it in a safe spot so you'll be able to keep it from being tossed out or used, just in case we ask you to return it to us. Horrible new scent!

If I could give this 0 stars I would. The smell is offensive and cloying! Image your great aunts church perfume that lingers. Why mess with something that has worked for decades, this was a poor marketing decision.

This new scent is awful.

We usually have a large bottle that keeps us stocked. When we did finally buy a new one three weeks ago, I was very disappointed to find the scent has changed. It is too strong, flowery, and overpowering. It hangs on the dishes, especially pots and pans and I can really smell it when I go to cook with them. We will no longer be purchasing dawn dish soap and have moved on to a different brand.

Hate the new smell!!!

The new scent stays on dishes, it is gross!. My daughter gave me back her juice cause it mixed with the overpowering dawn scent and smelled rotten. There are enough gross scented products. I will not use dawn again, and according to all the review of the last few months, most will not. Read the reviews for your product, your customers are moving on to other brands.

Been using Dawn for years, not anymore. The new scent is AWFUL! It was perfect before. So overpowering and nauseating.

I thought I bought the wrong soap…. The new scent is horrible. It’s not fresh. If you want to keep the new scent, that’s fine. But please at least let us have the option to buy the old one as well. I don’t want “unscented” - I want my normal Dawn soap. Otherwise I will have to switch.

We've donated thousands of bottles of Dawn, cleansing and helping more than 75,000 animals over the last 40 years. The techs who work with the groups use Dawn to gently remove the contaminants from the animals. All of them are highly trained to use the soap safely, significantly increasing the survival rate of these innocent victims. disgusting smell lingers on dishes after 3 rinses

so basically you know everyone hates the scent change but you don't care. lol. this is crazy. I washed all my glasses in regular ol blue dawn and after rinsing I noticed the smell lingering. I rinsed with hot water then with cold water . the smell lingered on ceramic mugs , especially after putting a hot beverage in the mug. never ever ever had this problem before. I have misophonia and bad smells make me super angry . cant stand it. wont ever use this again . Palmolive will now be tried or ajax or literally anything else. see how that goes. ugh

Be sure not to soak them in soapy water, but wash and rinse them immediately. Something else that may help to know we've recently begun selling a "Fragrance Free" Dawn Free & Clear.
