New scent stinks. Switching to a new brand.

I have used Dawn for many, many years. The new original scent is so terrible, it makes me nauseous. I can't believe someone actually decided to approve it. That person should be fired. I will be switching to another brand.

The new scent is absolutely horrible. But the old scentI could do my dishes. I have a chronic illness that includes fragrance responses. The new fragrance makes me react and I can no longer use this product. I won’t be supporting this product anymore.

Changed Dawn smell awful! Bring back the original

I loved dawn! But can no longer use it ! The new clean scent is awful!! What’s up? It was great because of how it worked and no scent! Also I bought a 2nd bottle because I thought I bought the wrong one. It didn't mention a scent but sadly it smells the same! Awful!! Big mistake ! Whose idea was this and why change a great thing?? And yes I’m rating it a zero! I can’t use it anymore !

DO NOT purchase the new sent it is horrible!!

I have been using Dawn dishwashing detergent for 50 years. I just used the new scent and as soon as I put the detergent in the water I started sneezing then coughing. The smell is so horrible it smells like someone drowned themself in a bottle of perfume to hide their sent of something horrible. I could not get rid of the horrible smell off my hands until I washed them four times with unscented soap. Please DO NOT USE THIS DETERGENT ON ANY ANIMAL!!! I will no longer be able to use your product. I’m so disappointed.

Horrific fragrance

I am very upset. Why change the scent? As soon as I opened this bottle I started to have a severe allergic reaction and had an asthma attack. Since the bottle appeared the same I didn’t notice they changed the scent. Why? After all the years of Dawn being a reliable top brand why would they change the fragrance, especially to this excessively strong obnoxious scent? I couldn’t get the smell out of anything it touched including my hands. I just threw the rag and sponge away. Please don’t use this on any baby duckies or other animals!

Since safety is our top priority here at Dawn, we can assure you that our Dawn Original has been thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed. As well, a lot of thought goes into the design of our products, and this fragrance change was implemented after receiving positive feedback during extensive testing with consumers. There's a label/sticker on the front of the bottle will state "New Clean Scent." We'll be sure to share your comments with the rest of our team, and we do recommend that you discontinue use of this particular product, if you haven't already. It may be helpful to know that we offer other Dawn versions, and we hope that you'll give another Dawn a try. For a lighter scent, we suggest checking out our Dawn Free & Clear. Helene!

I have used Dawn for a while but we have just been through Helene and have been without power, hot water and the ability to use a dishwasher since Friday, September 27th. I purchased a new bottle so I could hand wash dishes in cold water and be sure greasy stuff would come off and dishes would be clean. It’s been great! Now if only my power would come back on. I’m thankful for what I have though.

New fresh scent -unfortunate

I bought this hoping for a pleasant scent. After use, I have to wash my hands to get rid of the smell. Original was getting too scented.
I will try your unscented because I like your product. I will drive to another store since my grocery doesn’t carry unscented.

Like the product, hate the packaging

I've been loyal to Dawn for, I dunno, two decades, but that may end. This new "EZ Squeeze" packaging addresses a problem that doesn't exist, in my opinion. I always decant my dish soap into a glass pump bottle that I keep on my countertop. That's much, much harder with the new design. With sufficient force I can twist off the whole lid, but it's a pain. Even if I didn't decant into a different container, I'd still prefer the old design. It looked fine, stood upright, was easy to open to add water and get maximum use out of those last few glops left in a seemingly empty bottle. This new cap design uses much more plastic which is environmentally tone-deaf. I think after this bottle is up I'll be checking out Palmolive, or Ajax, or Joy.
