Terrible new fragrance

I had to replenish my bulk supply recently, only to find my dearly loved original scent replaced with an awful new scent. I do not want my food to taste like fragrance from my dishes. It's unappealing and the original scent was neutral to the palate. I've used it for decades and before me, my grandmother used the same Dawn original scent. The original wasn't just a mild non intrusive scent, but nostalgia in the kitchen for many of us who learned to love Dawn by having that love passed down to us from our loved ones. You can't replace that kind of loyalty by introducing something new to us long time users. You'll lose us all.

While many consumers have embraced the new fragrance, we recognize that some long-time users, like yourself, have expressed disappointment in losing the original scent. In response to this feedback, we are excited to share that we will be reintroducing the Classic Scent as an additional option in our Dawn Ultra lineup. This will be available at major retailers across the U.S. starting in February 2026.

Why would you change the scent?

It still works like dawn, but I miss the clean old scent. Bring it back please! The new scent smells off, like rotten fruit.

new smell is not good

The new "Clean Scent" is horrible. I didn't realize there was anything wrong with the Original Scent whereas it needed changing. I strongly urge you to bring back the Original Scent! I would try the free and clear product, however, I have 1) never seen it in my grocery store, and 2) the original does what other products cannot do--it kills fleas!
Switching gears, I will say that the EZ-Squeeze bottles are great.

TERRIBLE "New" SCENT

This "NEW CLEAN" scent SUCKS! It's TERRIBLE and OVERPOWERING! My wife is also sensitive to scent and we can't use this now. Sad as we've used dawn original/ dawn ultra original for decades. We will NEVER buy this product again until they change the scent back.

Bad Scent

Hate! Hate! Hate! New scent. I thought there was something wrong with the bottle I bought and went and bought another. Then, went on and realized the scent has changed. It is awful. Please fix the smell.

The New Scent is Awful

Horrible scent. Dawn has been Dawn for 50+ years. Why change the original scent? I am sensitive to fragrances and am unable to use the new Dawn. Please change it back. This is just like the New Coke fiasco of the 80's.

Horrible New Scent

This new scent is absolutely horrendous. It smells like cheap laundry detergent trying to mask stinky clothes. I don’t want my kitchen to smell like the laundry room. The scent is so overwhelming as soon as you squeeze one drop. The entire kitchen smelled so bad after doing some hand washing after dinner. Why would you change something not in need of change? Our daughter came over for dinner and gave me her bottle because she didn’t like it not knowing I had already thrown my own bottle in the trash. Wasted money in two households. I’ll be purchasing Palmolive for the first time in 25 years. Please bring back the original scent.
