This is truly a terrific set, so well designed but its missing the small turrets on the main tower... I've had a look through Pick-a-Brick and with the extra pieces shown I've fixed this, enjoy!

Great to See the Return of Harry Potter

Love this version of the Great Hall. It's very detailed. After visiting the Warner Bros. Studio Harry Potter Tour outside of London, it would be cool if LEGO did a Creator Expert version of Hogwart's Castle that better captures the size and elements of the original, massive model used in film production.

Not bad at all, but could be better

I first have to start off by saying how happy I am that Lego has reintroduced a Harry Potter line. Secondly I have to say that I'm happy to see that the Lego has returned to releasing buildings/play sets for this line as opposed to the constant stream of vehicles with relatively little play set play value that we have seen from lines like Star Wars. Actual structures/buildings/etc. allow for Lego fans to actually use their imagination and set up scenes instead of just lining up a row of vehicles.
This Hogwarts set is pretty good. Great hall is... well great! I do have a few issues though. First, the staircase that leads to Dumbledore's office is a nice callback to the old sets, but the office itself lacks a chair or room to stand any more than one figure. Some of the equipment could be done w/o in order to fit a chair/desk... also Fawkes the phoenix shouldn't be hidden behind the Mirror of Erised, but in his office. Secondly, the Mirror of Erised has a slot on the top of the tower w/o any space to put figures in front of it. The whole point of it is for it to be a mirror that shows the minifigures' desires and not being able to put the minifigures in front of it without removing it from the tower entirely and setting it on table/etc. defeats the purpose of having a dedicated space for the mirror. Thirdly, why have the basilisk? There is no Chamber of Secrets here or even a compartment to store the basilisk. Seeing as this seems to be a first year Hogwarts set (since it includes Professor Quirrell, Mirror of Erised, etc.) I think including the troll and turning the bottom level of the tower into a dungeon (and moving the staircase and Dumbledore's office up one level) would have been a much better choice. Overall the design is very nice, but from a practicality standpoint there are some things that don't make sense when it comes to the playability of it, and additionally there are just some things within the Harry Potter world that would have made much more sense instead of throwing a basilisk into the set, etc. I'll give it a 7.5/10. Not bad at all, but definitely could be improved on.

Awesome is all I can say.

I missed all the past Harry Potter releases throughout the years, and i have to say I'm not upset about it because this new wave is refreshing.
I'll start with a brief upset over this set (it's like the only real gripe i can come up with): Dumbledore's office is...missing. It's only a brief upset because after i added the whomping willow set to this one i did a few changes to snapes office and turned it into Dumbledore's office (even added Dumbledore's vision plate and Tom Riddle's diary from the collectible minifigures)
Oh, well...one more minor complaint...the pier keeps falling off. Will have to anchor it on better when i get a chance.
The rest of this set is great and visually satisfying; especially from the exterior. There's just so much to appreciate that's it's best to just make the purchase, build, and enjoy. Even the sorting hat is awesome to look at. Oh, and if you get the triwizard cup from the collectible minifigures consider placing it behind the professor's table in the great hall.
I'm hoping they release more additions to the castle like the Whomping Willow set. Maybe adding a library, green house, and defense against dark arts class room along with Hagrid's hut?

I was so excited when LEGO announced the return of the Harry Potter theme in 2018, because when I was younger I owned all the 2010/2011 sets and own a lot of the classic 2001-2002 sets and the Harry Potter theme is back in a big way this set is amazing with great play and display value and I would highly recommend this set!!!!!

Keep the Harry Potter Legos coming!

I had several of the older Harry Potter Lego sets back from when the original sets were issued. I am so excited to see that they are making more sets. I am hoping that eventually they will have enough of the individual sets for various parts of Hogwarts to have the entire Hogwarts and Hogsmeade grounds covered. I am excited for the big Hogwarts castle set that just came out, but I prefer the regular scale models, not the microscale models. I enjoyed building this, I loved that there are so many minifigures with this set. I can't wait to build the rest of the Harry Potter sets!

This was awesome, I’m looking forward to the huge set that is about to be released. And how awesome that it is being released on September 1st, the first day of term for Hogwarts. This was the second largest set I’ve built, the largest being one of the Millennium Falcons.
