Quality has been degraded

As I read in other reviews, this product has declined in quality and durability in the past year or so. The scrubbing edge gets a white/stringy look to it very quickly. Additionally, the sponge area also falls apart much quicker than the previous models. It is a shame because they used to be so versatile. I will be exploring an alternative once I exhaust this batch I purchased at a membership club.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

New shape is awful

I had my husband buy me a package and he put one new sponge out for me.
I started to use it and immediately hated it. The new shape masks a thinner sponge.
It’s so bad I thought he’d bought the store brand. Nope good old 3-M! Give me my old one back!

New and improved is NOT

I can’t remember ever using any other sponges in the kitchen, for decades! The new curved shape is useless. How can you clean out the straight edges of many pans without the long rectangular shape? Bought the larger size and will cut it up, I guess.

Chemical smell

I have been a loyal customer for years, however I am concerned with the fact that the sponges have a very distasteful chemical smell after just a few uses. I always rinse it very well after i use it. How can I avoid this?

The sponges can be washed in the dishwasher on the top rack or you can clean them by placing in boiling water (after the heat has been turned off) for 3-5 minutes. Sponge separation.

Bought a 9 pack of these a week ago. Have used 4 of them so far. Every single sponge has separated into the scrubbing pad and sponge.And this after very minimal use. Not sure if the glue formula has changed, but this one certainly isn't working.

Not what they used to be

Have used these sponges for years, but now they changed them , making the scrub pad thicker and the sponge thinner, doesn't hold dish ditergent very good anymore, started to smell after one week of use and just awkward to use now with the thicker scrub pad.

I have used these sponges to wash dishes for years, my last purchase of the heavy duty scrub sponge has a problem. I can use the sponge for about a week and then it becomes slimy to the touch. I throw it away and start over with a new one. I let them dry out after each use. Something changed.

What happened to Scotch-Brite sponges?

I have used Scotch-Brite sponges for over 30 years. Recently I have noticed that the yellow sponge wears out and disintegrates after very few uses. Forget running it through the dishwasher, it becomes useless after that! I have always counted on Scotch-Brite sponges to be dependable, sturdy and long-lasting, now I will shop around for a replacement. Whatever you did to them 3M, change it back!
