Hey there! So sorry for any inconvenience you've experienced with the 3-in1 Charging Station with MagSafe. You're correct in saying our standard Defender Series case isn't compatible with this product though. You'll need to use it with your caseless device or one of our made for MagSafe cases, like the Symmetry Series+ or Defender Series XT, that feature a magnet imbedded within the case to ensure that MagSafe connection "locks" and holds strong through the case.
