We had a bigger light, but 2 of the three bulb sockets quit working. Decided to try this one, and was pleasantly surprised. It is very bright, and the smaller size means I can take it on trips. Excellent value. Would highly recommend. Also, have bought bulbs from this company and service is great.
I've used it every winter for the past two years. Really is a huge difference in SAD. (Seasonal affective disorder.) Love it so much I gave to as gifts this year :-)

Hot and Cold...

I still have yet figured out how to turn on the light. I have a HappyLight Model VT42. There is what appears to be an on/off switch on the top but it doesn't turn it on... all the time. Sometimes I can get it to go on with one click but most times (frustrating) it takes several tries. I've tried holding the button for 10 seconds and sometimes it works but most times it doesn't. Turning it off is just as frustrating. I finally unplug it to turn it off. Instructions are terrible... hence, I hope to have someone tell me how to turn it on and off here.
When it's on, it's VERY BRIGHT. I am having trouble adjusting the intensity of the light so I put a piece of white paper over it to dim it. That works well but it seems odd that I'd have to do that for this product.
The light itself seems to work OK, as I live in Washington and it tends to be fairly gray and cloudy/rainy in the fall/winter months. I seem to get a bit of an energetic feeling after sitting near it each morning. The WORST part is being asked to review the item a week before I receive it! Your company did that the last time I ordered one for a family member.
An hour a day in front of my Happy Light has almost eliminated my SAD symptoms. I recommend it to anyone who has trouble with mood or sleep during the shorter days of the year, or who live in an area that doesn't get a lot of sun.
